FishingBooker is the largest online travel platform for booking fishing trips around the world, which was visited by over 10 million users from 100 different countries last year.

Since 2013, FishingBooker has been developing its product for its users, completely autonomously, without external investment. This allows us to work on fast, iterative development with frequent code deployment. We believe in quality solutions, healthy and open human relationships, and the ability to constantly improve.

About you

There’s a good chance you’re a good fit for this role if you have:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Affinity for conducting original research in an ambiguous environment where the solution to identified problems is not always clear.
  • Experience in data analysis, preferably in a product or business analytical role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Basic experience with BI tools such as Preset, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience instead.
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organization skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude and the ability to work well with others in order to achieve a common goal.
  • Ability to efficiently communicate in English (written and verbal).

Pay and conditions

Full-time contract. FishingBooker hires on a full-time employment contract basis (ugovor o radu) and offers 23+ days of paid vacation, plus public and religious holidays observed in Serbia.

Pay.  We’re proactive about sharing salary information. Depending on seniority, you can expect a NET salary within these ranges:

  • Junior Data Analyst: 975 EUR - 1275 EUR

  • Data Analyst: 1525 EUR - 1850 EUR

  • Senior Data Analyst: 2200 EUR - 2700 EUR

Professional development. When we start working together, every six months (April and October) you will receive a detailed performance review from your team lead with clear instructions on how to grow further. During these periods, you will also be eligible for salary increases based on your performance and initiative.

Flexible hours. You are free to set your own working hours, as long as they allow for good collaboration with your teammates. At FishingBooker, we value flexibility, freedom, and focus. 

Remote-friendly workspace. During your initial onboarding, we expect to see you in the office every day. After that, you should continue to come in on a regular basis, with the option to work remotely on occasion as needed. Our office is next to Delta City in Novi Beograd. and has plenty of parking available if you prefer to come to the office by car.

Private health insurance. You'll have a chance to participate in our private health insurance plan, fully subsidized by FishingBooker. 

Onboarding and training. Regardless of your level of experience, you will be assigned a mentor as well as a full onboarding plan where you will learn the ins and outs of the business, how we work in the team, and our tools. We also provide company-sponsored books, training, and courses.

Company-sponsored trips. In 2018 and 2022 we went to Fujairah, UAE and in 2019 and 2023 we went to Rovinj, Croatia. You will have a diverse team of supportive, caring, and friendly colleagues from all over the world with whom you’ll be able to enjoy additional team-building activities over the year. 

Apple equipment. Our standard equipment setup typically includes the latest Apple Macbook Pro 14’ M2, a Dell Ultrasharp monitor, Magic Mouse and Keyboard.

About the job

The Data team in FishingBooker is a team responsible for analyzing complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to our internal teams. 

Imagine diving into vast datasets to decode user behavior, pinpointing the distinct patterns of how families with children plan their fishing trips differently from solo anglers or groups without kids, all to tailor a flawless user experience. Or visualize yourself designing a comprehensive OKRs dashboard that democratizes access to crucial data, keeping everyone aligned on company priorities and our progress toward collective goals. 

As a Data Analyst, you will be working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to power the data ecosystem, enable easy insights, reliable measurement, and influence product development.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets.

  • Use tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs.

  • Design and develop dashboards to enable self-serve data consumption.

  • Understand data needs by interfacing with fellow Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Product Managers.

  • Work closely with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend optimization.

  • Provide data analysis services to support various ad hoc analysis requests.
