Trip Summary

Big Fish and Great Fishing! August has been a great month for Island Pursuit Sport Fishing and our guests. August and September are well known as the months to try and land the biggest fish of a lifetime. 2019 has not lets us down, our charters continuously saw lots of fish to the boat. We had 8 Chinooks in the 30's and 1 40 pounder! We had great pink fishing off and on when targeted. Coho fishing has been a bit tuffer, we are expecting it to pick up over this month with good reports of Coho holding up north. Little to no effort has been put forth bottom fishing as it is historically a bit slower this time of year. We have seen the Orca and Humpback whales very regularly with all the bait and krill in our area. September September is still a peak season month in Comox. This month is the only chance you have to hook all 5 species in one charter. We see a lot of mature Chinooks the first half of the month and the local feeding 3 year old Chinook move back in providing lots of action. As predicted the coho start to move in thick and they are much bigger then they where in the summer. We are now aloud 2 Chinooks per day, 2 Coho! Please check out our social media pages we report every time we go out.

Latest Update For Island Pursuit Sport Fishing Spring has sprung and it seems we are getting out of the grasp of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the last couple months we had to halt sport fishing operations to join the effort in stopping transmission of the virus. Fortunately I was able to pick up some work with my off-season commercial fishing job. On Wednesday May 6th, the B.C government announced their official phase in plan. We will be able to restart local operations May 15th. Reports from people personal fishing have been fantastic and we can't wait to begin again. This week I will be focusing on getting my boat in the water and creating new crew and guest protection procedures.
