Captain Mike and Dylan were among the top of the hardest, working charters I have ever experience. I have been fishing way too long to rate a charter by how many fish you catch. And that is true here; it was just an incredibly slow bite . But that did not deter them from trying their hardest to put us on the fish. We started out early trolling for wahoo. Then we fished the wrecks for mutton snapper. No luck. It was such a beautiful day we headed offshore and my son quickly caught a gopher dolphin. We then went into the shallows and anchored and caught a couple of dozen fish off the rocks, only a handful were keepers. But, it was lots of good action. My son absolutely loved it. It was an awesome boat, well stocked with premium quality fishing gear for all types of targeted species. I highly recommend Capt and Mike and Dylan

My wife, her brother and I went out with Captain Mike on the 35 foot Sea Hunter. Captain Mike and his Mate worked very hard to get us on fish and he listened to what we wanted to do and made suggestion as to improve our chances of getting the type of fish we were hoping to land. My wife landed a nice Mutton Snapper. I was very pleased with his work ethic and the fact that he was not afraid to do whatever we chose to pursue, I have been out with Captains in years past that just wanted to take you out and anchor on the reef and bottom fish or fish for Yellow tail, therefore saving them fuel and expense. Captain Mike was not one of these type of Captains. I look for 4 things when I book a charter in the Keys for me and my wife. Offshore, first mate, the ability for my wife to smoke on board, and finally a toilet. These are the things that are required. About an hour into our trip my wife used the toilet and while she was doing that Captain Mike informed us that the head was nonfunctional and had been since 2007. I fail to understand why you would not have this fixed or at least why you would advertise that you have a toilet on board if you chose not to fix it. Aside from the head not being functional I loved the 35 foot Sea Hunter. It could possibly use a windlass and a better anchor. We couldn’t hold bottom in the deep water on the reef, but it was rather rough and windy. This was the only disappointing things on our trip with Captain Mike, except that the bite wasn’t good and that water was pretty rough, but that is why it is called fishing and not catching. I would definitely go back out with Captain Mike again if the toilet is functional.

Capt. Mike and Quinn were amazing. We were in a nice size 35ft boat with plenty room. The crew is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We not only had a blast but also learned so much about fishing in the area. We came back with boat load of Mahi and Black Fin Tuna. The ocean was rough but the boat handled it extremely well. I would definitely recommend Capt. Mike as this was one of the best fishing trips we have ever taken.

I took 3 of my sons fishing over two days. Mike was very friendly, very accommodating, and very knowledgeable. We were treated with respect the entire trip. Water was a little choppy the first day, so we did the reefs and wrecks on his recommendation. The second day started out really well. We caught an Amber Jack first pass. We were heading out to fish offshore when engine trouble ended the day early. Despite the setback, we will definitely be back to spend more time with Jersey Charters. Already looking forward to our next trip.

Mike and Dylan were absolutely AMAZING! The boat is spotless, the guys are friendly, happy, and ready to fish as soon as you arrive. They explain the entire process very well to be sure you are confident and comfortable before starting the charter. As Mike navigated to his fishing hotspots, he stopped a couple times to make sure we were okay. It felt like we were spending the day with friends. On multiple occasions the guys made sure we were hydrated because it was well over 90 degrees and asked if we needed a break. Using several different tactics, every location we fished in had fish. They absolutely go above and beyond. At the end of our trip they filleted the fish for us and even made recommendations on places to either have the fish cooked or shipped home. I highly recommend this charter to anyone looking to fish in Marathon.
