Had a great day out on the reef with Captain Edgar. We left the harbor before sun up, and witnessed a glorious sunrise! We had a little trouble making bait. After a couple of hours we had 15 lively mackerel in the live well and headed out to the fishing grounds. I had never landed a yellowtail and was excited that that was going to be our targeted species for that day. We lost the first one in the rocks. Edgar’s knowledge of the area proved not to disappoint. In the next few hours we had four nice yellowtail on ice. Each of them going over 30 pounds, the largest a whopping 45 pounds! With a quick stop to fillet our catch, we were back in the harbor at about 2:00 pm. All in all, it was a wonderful day out with Captain Edgar. I would highly recommend his service to anyone wanting to get on the fish!

Edgar is the best kept secret of La Paz fishing trips.  His English is great! The whole day we heard his radio going off, asking where he was located!  He was the 1st boat out and knew exactly where to go. He reads reports on the water, wind, and goes out almost every day.  We caught 3 Mahi Mahi and 2 Marlin.  He was patient and willing to work with my 15yr boy as he was in a fight with a marlin for 3hrs.  Edgar was going to go the distance if he needed to, because he is that kind of guy!  We used a small tuna that we caught as bait and it was exactly what the Marlin was looking for.  My 2 sons (15yr and 13yr) were amazed at the experience.  Edgar knew how to handle the kids, help them a little bit,  but not to much.  He instructed them at the right time.  WE will be back. I am already planning 2 trips / yr to go out with Edgar from Los Angeles. He fileted and packed the fish before we docked. He gave us a ride to our hotel.  Plus, I locked my keys in the car the day before, and he found me someone to open the car. Complete gentleman and a super trust-worth individual. He never took advantage of any situation.  Edgar, You have my vote every time.  See you soon!  :-)

We had an amazing trip with Captain Edgar. Edgar was on top of his game every step of the way. From checking in the night before to make sure we were ready and had directions to the boat, to having drinks and burritos ready for us in the morning. We caught 8 fish. Six of them were large Mahi. Edgar set it up to have the Mahi prepared for us at the restaurant at the Marina. They prepared the fish 3 different ways.Ceviche, Garlic Butter, and breaded and deep fried. It was delicious. Some of the best fish I have ever ate. Over all it was a very fun and memorable trip. I highly recommend Edgar!

I will definitely be using Captain Edgar for any future fishing trips to La Paz!! He was incredibly knowledgeable and skillful. He demonstrated his expertise by helping us catch 7 dorado and 1 wahoo during our half day trip. He was well prepared with all necessary gear and worked very hard the whole day to make sure we had the best chance of catching fish. So much fun and such a nice guy! El mejor capitán en La Paz! My first time in La Paz after being on about a dozen other fishing trips to Loreto & Los Barilles I decided to try my luck on a smaller outfitter vs the larger ones in the area to avoid getting “lost in the crowd”. My wife and I had 2 days of fishing planned and it could not have gone any better. Edgar made the accommodation to pick us up on the boat from the hotel, plus we had a few last minute date changes due to the recent hurricane, and he was prompt in communicating on both. Edgar really is a top notch guide and just a fun person to have on the boat to fish with. His English was well above many of the guides I’ve had in Baja which was welcomed, and he was upbeat and enthusiastic. Our fishing experience was amazing! Both days we caught over 20 Dorado in about 2 hours of fishing(which can’t be expected every time, but right place right time for a reason) I would recommend Edgar to anyone going to La Paz without hesitation, and will absolutely be booking with him next time we’re down here.
