Anchors Away Charters – Inshore/Back Country
If you’re looking for an incredible inshore Florida fishing adventure, make sure that a visit to Anchors Away Charters is at the top of your “to-do” list! Located in Placida, this charter boasts access to the seriously plentiful and protected fishing grounds of Gasparilla Sound and Charlotte Harbor. In addition, your captain Jeff Watkins has been fishing these waters all of his life. Who could be better equipped to take you on a day of first-class fishing?
Capt. Jeff started fishing when he was 4 years old, and from that moment he knew that angling was going to be a big part of his life. When it comes to these inshore fishing grounds, he’s spent plenty of time exploring them and knows exactly where the hottest spots are. He’ll happily share his local tips and tricks when it comes to reeling in your dream catch – whether that’s Redfish, Snook, or more!
You’ll be traveling on board your captain’s 18’ Shallow Sport center console, perfectly built to navigate these shallow waterways and get to spots that other boats can’t. She’s decked out with top-quality navigational, safety equipment, and a wireless trolling motor so you can sneak up on the fish.
Capt. Jeff’s inshore trips focus on the waterways in and around Gasparilla Sound and Charlotte Harbor, which are home to a huge host of incredible Floridian favorites. Your targeted species include Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Snook – all three are seriously fun to catch, and will provide plenty of rod-bending action! Depending on the bite and your skill level, you’ll use a mix of artificial lures, live bait, and cut bait.
You’ll be provided with rods, reels, tackle, and a fishing license. Come aboard Anchors Away Charters for an incredible inshore adventure!
Redfish and Snook are catch and release only on Captain Jeff’s charters to allow the fishery to continue to flourish. This fish can still be caught but will have to be released.
