A very memorable experience for our group of guys aged 13 to 80 :)

We had a good time chatting with Captain Tiger throughout the trip, tested fishing at various spots, caught a bunch of fishes and most of all returned with a great experience.  We are newbies (or beginners) with drop fishing like that and it was exciting to be out at sea.  Every catch is a joy for us.

We enjoyed ourselves and learnt some skills from Captain Tiger too.

Like mentioned by others who reviewed their trip, it is important to get sufficient number of hooks, sinkers and leader lines.  Then learn from Captain Tiger as he teach on how to setup the equipment.  Captain Tiger is very patient to teach and most helpful to assist with the hook setup too.  (Thumbs up!)

Just thought I put a picture of the sinkers that we got.  These are the #3 type.  I prefer the pear shaped sinker, as it seems too be less prone to be stuck near to corals and rocks.

Took a full day trip with Capt Cliff (aka Tiger) - 5 pax family with 3 kids (youngest is 7). It started to rain very heavily about 5 mins after we left the marina, but we brought raincoats as Tiger advised. Luckily it cleared up by the time we reached the first fishing spot. We have no experience with fishing with rods so we bought what Tiger advised and rented his rods. Tiger did not rest for a single moment. Other than driving the boat he helped us nonstop to tie lines, set up the sinkers, swivels and hooks, taught us fishing techniques and how to bait the hooks, attend to stuck lines etc. The kids were over the moon when they landed fishes, especially when their catches were bigger than their father’s! It is very clear that Tiger loves the sea and he loves fishing. He really put full effort into making sure that we caught fishes even with the bad weather.

The boat is basic but clean, it is well set up for fishing with rod rests all along the sides and a tank on the back to keep the prawns alive. We didn’t stay in the cabin, much better outside with the breeze and ocean. Take anti-seasick meds an hour before the trip, don’t wait till you feel sick. Bring toilet paper - but remember do not flush it! If you are inexperienced like us, buy plenty of leader lines, hooks, swivels and especially the smaller sinkers! We had 20 small sinkers and lost every one in the corals and rocks. These are inexpensive from tackle shops. Better to have more than not enough. Confirm the sizes and numbers of each with Capt Tiger.

Food wise, we brought a cooler box of sandwiches and cut fruit - easy to eat and no heating required. We used the cooler on the return to put our fish in. Tiger asked us to pick up the bait prawns and ice blocks from a tackle shop in Ayer Rajah on the way to the marina, which was easy but quite heavy. A flatbed trolley would be helpful to get things from the car to the boat and return, we didn’t think of that.

All in all, a great and educational day of real fishing! We had a great time. The kids were so thrilled and proud that they managed to land various groupers. My daughter was the winner with a 1kg grouper. We enjoyed being on the bow on the way back to enjoy the breeze and ocean waves. The fish were cooked for dinner! The kids said it’s the best boat trip they’ve been on and want to go again.

It’s our first fishing trip out to the sea.  Cap Tiger has been very helpful in preparing us for the trip. From getting the equipment to procuring seasick medication, he is covering them in good details.
The family members have all enjoy his great hospitality and jovial conversation. 

Will look forward to future trips with him.

A great Sunday fishing trip.  Three of us on the boat, nice cloudy weather.  We didn’t have our own tackle so rented rods and reels and bought what Tiger told me to buy—which is my only complaint of the trip.  He didn’t tell us the right stuff and quantities, so I bought a lot of stuff (lures) I didn’t use and didn’t have enough of certain things (hooks, swivels, sinkers).  My suggestion would be for Tiger to put together an order at the marina tackle shop for customers to purchase in the morning before departure.

Other than that we had a fantastic outing.  Tiger is a nice guy, knows the waters well and made sure we caught fish (says no shut-outs in 24 years).  Helped a lot with tying lines and everything else.  Boat is basic but comfortable with lots of space.  I would definitely go out with Tiger again!

Excellent experience and had a blast with Tiger. He was super patient with kids, taught us the different species, brought us to different fishing spots, even helped hook a “green-eye” for us. Definitely recommend his boat for new-comers; clean, spacious, excellent captain. Recommend!
