Trolling for Mahi and Waho wasn’t producing.  None of the Captains were having any luck and the crew were honest about this up front but I wanted to try and they accommodated and did their best.  Can’t help that it was the slow time of the year.  So we switched to still, bottom fishing which was busy and fun.  We used some of the smaller fish caught as live bait and I caught a nice snapper and lastly a 4.5’ black tip shark which we released.  Worth the trip and a good day.  I would go again and would like to return in the summer months when the predator fish are more active.

Every year we try to go somewhere warm during the Winter and on most trips we do a fishing trip. My boys are now 12 & 7 and they finally were able to catch a fish from the ocean on their own!  This was by far my favorite 4 hours out of the entire week. Watching my two sons laugh together and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer was exactly what I needed. No iPads as a distraction.

Captain Ryan and his First Mate Dray were gracious hosts and amazing guides. They knew right where to go to catch fish.

When we return we are Definitely Definitely booking another trip with these two.

Ryan and Dre were amazing!! Dre impressed me with his work effort and willingness to learn the sport.  Ryan is well, on a real different level and I’ve fished in many different parts of the world seen many different captains.  Ryan displayed total confidence, he is at home in his waters but his ability to perform at a high level with control movements; was very unique to see it.  The duo produced multiple strikes landing 2 fish.  I hope to charter them again because this team has talent, genuine passion and 1 of a kind style.  Blue Finn to me means World Class Fishing!!

That was the name of our trip
I had a great time with my boys fishing with this crew there very knowledgeable of the area we hooked up shortly after lines were in the water with a blackfin tuna but a shark wanted more than us
So we fileted the remaining half and went to the Green Parrot at the marina and had a great lunch of blackened tuna and a few cold Sands
Finished the trip up with some ground fishing on a local reef
Definitely would fish with this crew again

The crew were really kind and accommodating to my family and I.  We all know that nobody can guarantee anything in this sport so it’s no one’s fault that things were slow. As a guy who knows the sport and runs a business: there are a few gentle recommendations:

1) vary your bait when bottom fishing.

2) your gear is old and failing.  The swivel literally broke off during a shark fight and two of your rods didn’t function and were coated in salt.

3) if you promise beer to a client,  take the time to get it. It’s the little details that mean the most to clients paying $800+ for a private charter.

4) if you’re going to sub out your work, inform your subcontractor about what you’re targeting. You assured us we’d target barracuda and shark. You need to prepare for this by gathering your baits, chum, and rigs ahead of time to maximize the 4 hr inshore experience for clients.  This wasn’t what happened today. 

5) I understand Keith is trying to make a living but paying attention to detail,  especially if you’re charging a premium and Fishingbooker is putting they’re stamp on the transaction,  is really important.
