This is very disappointing that we get blamed for Mother Nature. This day 99% of the fleet canceled due to a Gail ⚠️ warning and small craft advisory. I personally met the customer at the dock and explained that I did not advise them to go and offered a full refund due to the weather conditions and said we could not get out to the Halibut grounds in the Cook Inlet due to the Gail warning. I did offer them since they had no other days to go out and already where in Homer to take them out on the water to have an Alaskan experience and see the beautiful scenery in the bays that are protected from the weather but we still had to cross through the rough waters to get there.  I also said it wasn’t likely that we would catch anything but it is fishing and we could always get lucky so if they wanted to take the chance I would do my best to show them a good time. It was a beautiful day as far as the sun was out and onve we got in Sadie Cove we were protected by the mountains from the wind. Unfortunately we did not get any real bites but they did actually catch a few other species other than Halibut which I already warned them would be the likely case. I also said once we leave the dock the trip is not refundable or discounted due to we still have expenses to run and in fact incure more expenses typically when the weather is rough due to more fuel burnt trying to break through the seas to get to cam waters. I got them to amd from the dock safely, kept them in calm waters the entire time but due to the weather and dropping barometric pressure the bite was off plus we were far from the good fishing grounds. Once again we offered them a full refund before we even left the dock. Like most of negative reviews it turns into our fault if they don’t catch fish but rarely explain weather was a major factor, lack of experience and lost many large fish due to inexperience. Look at our Facebook page and go through our galleries and it speaks for itself. We have over twenty years in the Industry with one of the largest fleets of Owner Operator Providers that are true Professionals that only do this for a living everyday. We give 100% of our geaet and soul to every trip but can only do so much. When Mother Nature gets involved there is little we can control and if you have any knowledge of fishing then you understand that atmospheric conditions can greatly affect the fishing. Please make sure when booking a charter not to just grab a time slot off the internet because fish don’t feed around your schedule, it has everything to do with tides, weather and atmospheric conditions.
