The weather was not on our side as there were strong winds. Esley kept that in mind for our trip and recommended waiting. We were thankful as the water was restless and therefore the boat. He took care of us and gave very helpful tips. All in all, it was a great trip. We caught our fish and had it cooked up at the Pelican. Later, other locals asked about our trip and only had great things to say about Esley. He knows his stuff, knows the right spots and will usually get you a fish. With that being said, it is still fishing! There are never granites.

Esley is a man of few words, make sure to ask questions and he’ll help you out.  If you are new to hiring a fishing charter or want someone who will explain every little detail or make small talk, this trip probably isn’t for you.  I’d recommend him for more serious and seasoned antlers. 

We had a great time fishing with Esley. First we went and caught bait, watching him steer with his foot to position the boat so he can throw a cast net was amazing! The seas were a little rough in the morning so we stayed inside the reef and trolled.  Caught 3 barracuda, 1 needle fish and 1 yellowtail snapper.  Then went and tried somd deep drops had a couple good fish on but lost them.  The last couple hours we trolled, caught another barracuda and a wahoo.  He worked very hard, tried multiple presentations and locations in order to put us on some fish.

My day with Easley was enjoyable.  I didn’t land as many as I’d liked, but that was not Easleys fault.  Some were my fault, others the sharks.  I was with him all day and I appreciated his attention to the changing dynamics and moving us and changing techniques as needed.  I never went long without some action.  The sea got bigger as the day went on, but I never felt unsafe or in danger, I always felt that I was in good hands.  I fully enjoyed my experience with him!

Esley spoiled us by turning us on to some great fishing, snorkeling and conch hunting. We had a full day of enjoying what the belizean ocean has to offer. I would recommend captain Esley before any other fishing charters as he knows the area superbly and is an easy person to trust and spend the day with. Thanks Edley
