Kilby Lodge – Sturgeon Adventures
Welcome to Kilby Lodge, where dinosaurs are free to swim in the mighty Fraser River! Located in British Columbia’s scenic Fraser Valley, this place is internationally recognized as the No. 1 location for Sturgeon and Salmon fishing in the world. The lodge is located on the Harrison River, just 1 km above where the Harrison River meets the Fraser.
Captain Robert runs Sturgeon fishing trips year-round and he knows all the good places to properly anchor and catch the fish. Salmon season is in the fall and there are 5 types of Salmon you could catch – Coho, Chinook, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink. If you’re an avid fly fisherman with your own fly fishing gear, you can target Salmon from the banks as well.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 22’ Thunder Jet boat. This boat accommodates up to 4 anglers and everybody can fish at the same time. She’s equipped with Hummingbird navigational equipment and safety gear. There’s no minimum age policy and children of all ages are welcome. However, the captain provides life vests for everybody starting from the age of 7, so for younger children, parents should bring their own.
Pickup can be done from Abbotsford airport, which is a 2,5-hour ride and it costs $100. Some expenses depend on whether you’re staying at the lodge or not. For example, your fishing license is covered if you’re a guest and you also have kayaks free of charge as an additional activity. Meals and snacks are charged extra.
You can request a customized trip that fits your needs, so contact the captain if you’re staying at the lodge. The lodge includes a fireplace, a swimming pool, and bedrooms with a private bathroom. Multiday trips are available where you would spend 8-9 hour of fishing per day. You can spend the rest of the day kayaking, or hiking through nature and looking for hidden waterfalls in the area.
Enjoy fishing, kayaking, and swimming with sandy beaches and boat launch steps away from your front door. Book your spot in the Kilby Lodge today!
