First time sport finishing for us. We were out in the afternoon just after morning rain.  The crew was fantastic!!!  We had a four hour trip and after about 90 minutes by brother-in law and I hooked up on double striped marlins.  Next few min were a blur!  Thank goodness our wife’s had the cameras in their hands!  Both fish were 70+ inches and nearly 40 pounds.  One was on the chair and the other off the side. The crew was able to move the side pole from side to side to keep us both on.  We kept one and was successful in releasing the other.  The captain then filets the fish for us after we pulled in to the slip with two sail fish flags flying.  Outstanding afternoon!! If you truly want a fantastic fishing adventure, these are the guys!!!

My family and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a deep sea fishing trip in Hawaii with Five Star Sport Fishing, and it was absolutely phenomenal. From start to finish, the entire adventure was nothing short of extraordinary.

We did alot of research before picking a crew and charter to go with. Our research did not disappoint! First and foremost, the crew was outstanding. Captain Ruben and I believe Deck Hand Gabe were not only knowledgeable about the best fishing spots but also incredibly friendly and attentive to everyone’s needs. Whether you were a seasoned angler or a novice like myself and my family, they made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident throughout the trip.

The boat itself was spacious and well-equipped, with top-of-the-line fishing gear provided. We were trolling for big game fish, the equipment was more than capable of handling any challenge that came our way.

As for the fishing experience, it more than exceeded all expectations. The waters off the coast of Hawaii are teeming with an abundance of marine life, and we were lucky enough to reel in some impressive Mahi Mahi catches.  Every catch was met with cheers of excitement and adrenaline-fueled battles.

Furthermore, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. As we ventured further out to sea, we were treated to stunning views of the coastline and the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. We also got the pleasure of getting to see a Whale! It was a truly surreal experience being surrounded by such natural beauty.

Overall, my deep sea fishing trip in Hawaii was an unforgettable adventure. From the excellent crew to the thrilling fishing action and breathtaking scenery, every aspect of the trip was nothing short of perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exhilarating and memorable experience on the water.

Booked a full day trip on the Ruckus with Captain Rubin and deckhand Gabe.  Stopped to get some live bait then immediately started trolling.  Fishing started out slow aside from picking up a small skipjack tuna that we released.  A while later we finally picked up a nice Mahi-mahi which we put on ice.  Fished around for a while longer then got into a school of Mahi-mahi and fished live bait.  Ended up having multiple fish on at once and through the chaos managed to land a double on nice Mahi-mahi!

We were concerned about the weather forecast as it was a bit windy and with wind out of the south.  It was a bit rougher than we hoped, but the boat and captain handled it well and it wasn’t a problem (we did take Dramamine).  It sounds like conditions would need to be pretty bad for them to cancel and I’m glad we didn’t!

The only reason I knocked a star off is if you want to keep your catch.  We didn’t have any place to cook the fish and wanted to take some home.  They offered to cut and bag the fish, but know that if you’re wanting to transport your catch off the island, you are on your own.  Make sure you have a solid plan for doing so ahead of time.  We ended up leaving our fish with the boat rather than burning a day of vacation trying to figure out how to get it home.

These guys definitely worked their rears off to get us on fish.  All of the gear was great and there was plenty of room on the boat.  Would fish with them again anytime!

We took 6 hour trip. Went a bit past time which was awesome. Slow start. But amazingly we caught exactly what we told Rubin we were looking for. 100%success. We got two spear fish and a mahi. The fist spear was biggest at just over 6 ft
Boat was in good shape. Equipment was new and well maintained. Clean. Good communication. Perfect trip.

We had an amazing trip! I opted for a half-day morning and things started slow…we missed an Ono and a Mahi early. It took a a couple hours, but Captain Dallas and Gabe got us on the fish. We doubled on Short billed Spearfish and followed that up with a 4-banger on Striped Marlin. Awesome experience! Thanks again to Captain Dallas and Gabe
