TL;DR - Good guys who know the local waters and the capabilities of their boat. Dress and be prepared for the conditions on the north shore. Would repeat and recommend.

I booked a 5 hour morning charter with my wife and 13 year old son. The conditions were way rougher than we expected and what the forecast suggested (big swells, strong winds, etc.) but I trusted that captains Adam and Kevin knew what they were doing, and of course they did. We were going to earn our fish the hard way!

My poor wife suffered sea sickness most of the way but she soldiered on. My son was freaked out by the crashing swells and repeated nose dives in the dark before sunrise, but conditions did soften after sunrise once we laid our lines.

We caught two mahi-mahi and my son reeled them both in. I’m more proud of the fact that he went from being scared out of his mind in the beginning to understanding what courage is - you control your fear and don’t let it control you. By the time we started to head back, he was yelling yippee everytime we caught air, haha. Those two fish caught in those conditions were worth 20 caught on a breezy summer day.

Big props to Kevin for safely navigating the waters in those conditions and for easing up each time my wife had to hurl. And much respect to Adam for being as cool as a cucumber and acting like it was just another day at the office. That went a long way to reassuring my son we were all going to be fine. A fishing trip to remember and we’ll chase that bucket list marlin next time. Mahalo!

Captains Adam and Kevin were both professional and friendly, I particularly appreciated Capt Adam being very clear about expectations and just how hectic things will get when a fish gets on the line. That all said, this is North Shore Oahu in the beginning of winter, so even calmer days like yesterday are still quite rough. The boat was clean and well maintained, and the crew did well to provide some comfort amenities where possible, but potential customers would do good to understand they aren’t providing a pleasure cruise. Approach this with reasonable expectations for a day of dedicated offshore fishing and you’ll have an absolute blast as my party and I did.

With Capt Adams direction we pulled in 4 good sized Mahi, at the end of the day they gave us our choice of catch, gutted, cleaned and packaged it for us. All in all a great experience I’d recommend to anyone looking for a day of offshore fishing out at North Shore.

Short and simple first: I would absolutely recommend this charter, as a matter of a fact I already have. Adam and Steve were great. They worked very hard to put us on fish! If you are looking for a friendly, hard working crew, this is it.

Little longer review: We booked the half day (am) trip. I think this was enough time for my 12yo son. He was okay with the trip ending when it did. Not because he didn’t have a good time but because he wasn’t feeling well from the waves. If fishing with little ones I would consider how long they can sit on a boat with big waves rocking you up and down. Captain Adam did his best to direct the boat with the waves to minimize his illness.

Captain Adam and Steve were great. Both very knowledgeable about their jobs. Adam takes alot of pride in is work and you can tell he knows his craft.

Lastly the part you’ve been waiting for, how was the fishing? This is were expectation management is very important. The fishing is long and with no guarantee. But like the title says, “good vibes catch fish”. (Captain Adam’s words) I honestly set expectations low with my son to prevent disappointment. But boy he was not disappointment. As you can see he caught a great Wahoo! In totally we brought in 4 yellow fin tuna, 2 skipjack tuna and the wahoo. By the way, the fish tasted amazing. Adam, we ate all of it by the way!

Ill leave you with these two things to be successful have good vibes and expectations management. Be okay with paying for a long boat ride (the views are amazing anyway!)

Crew was friendly, straight and direct with the directions. Had a great time saw whales and dolphins and most importantly caught 2 great sized Mahi-Mahis! Great experience for my 1st deep sea fishing tour! Highly recommend
