Fishing usually takes place in the Indian River Lagoon, the most biodiverse lagoon ecosystem in the Northern Hemisphere. Home to over 3,000 species of plants and animals including Brown Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and Manatees. This is also an incredibly productive area for inshore saltwater fishing.
Captain Paul’s 22’ Ranger Bay Boat is built specifically for inshore and nearshore fishing. This high-end vessel is equipped with comfortable seating, a wireless trolling motor, and a spacious live bait tank. The comfortable “bow” fighting chair lets you tackle bigger fish effectively, while the onboard fishfinder, GPS, and VHF radio help guide you to the fish. There is plenty of space for up to three fishermen on board, and all the extras you might need are supplied.
Most charter trips will involve fishing the Indian Lagoon and the Fort Pierce Inlet for the large variety of species available in the area. Depending on tides and season this could include the Indian River Slam of Redfish, Snook, and Trout, as well as several varieties of Snapper, Sheepshead, small Bonnethead Sharks, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, Barracuda, and Tarpon. Capt. Paul always carries a variety of baits and artificial lures, usually fishing with live Shrimp but always having hard and soft plastics on hand.
