Located in Cape Canaveral, Lil’ Wagon Fishing Charters offers anglers visiting the area a wide range of experiences, fit for every preference and skill level. Captain Michael Hartnett is an experienced captain and has been fishing these waters since he was a child. He loves spending time on the water and will do his best to ensure that your time aboard is fun, enjoyable, and productive.

The captain’s 28’ Bluewater center console fishing boat is equipped with all the things you could need on your trip. Restored as recently as 2019 and powered by dual 300 HP Suzuki outboards she will get you to the desired fishing grounds quickly and comfortably every time. In addition to all the equipment, electronics, and safety gear, the boat also features separate cold storage for drinks and the catch.

You’ll be provided with top-notch Shimano, Penn, and Daiwa rods and reels, live and dead bait, and terminal tackle. Live bait may be caught before or at the beginning of the trip but it’s always included in the price. All trips accommodate up to 4 anglers fishing together, including kids of all ages. Life jackets of appropriate sizes will be provided to all guests.

Your fishing license and catch cleaning are also taken care of by the captain so the only things you need to take care of are the items you’re bringing aboard. This short checklist includes drinks, snacks, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Once you have these checked, you’ll be ready to hit the waves!

    This is a unique trip designed to run farther offshore to depths of 500'+, normally 550' to 1000' to specifically target Golden Tilefish, Yellowedge Grouper, and Snowy Grouper. 3 of the best eating white meat fish in the Atlantic!!!! We will utilize high powered electric power assist reels but if you think you are willing, you can try hand cranking them in! Better eat your wheaties! Hopefully we'll have time for some other types of fishing as well: bottom fishing or trolling to finish the day.

    Typically this trip would be split between reef and/or wreck fishing followed by offshore trolling, and visiting deeper reefs and/or wrecks for various species. This trip allows you to have more time to fish different locations and target any species available at the time of your trip. Consult with the captain to discuss your preferences, the most probable catch, fishing areas, and techniques you’ll use to catch your target.

    Fish the richest inshore spots and visit some of the area's many reefs and/or wrecks within 20 miles of the port entrance. Using either live bait or dead bait, you'll be targeting Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Shark, and Spanish Mackerel.

    Visit the most productive inshore spots the area has to offer. Discover the local reefs and/or wrecks up to 20 miles from the port entrance. Once there, you'll be able to target a wide array of species such as Spanish Mackerel, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, and Sailfish.

I have lived in Merritt Island all my life and have been fishing the waters off Pt. Canaveral since I was a small child with my family and friends. I love to fish in many different ways but sight fishing for Cobia and Tripletail are my favorite. I love spending time on the water, chasing and catching fish, teaching others to enjoy fishing and improve their skills.

What do you do when you are in town and only have one half day to fish and the wind is blowing to hard to fish on our typical reefs and wrecks offshore? We fish in the port, along the jetty's, near shore along our beautiful beaches, and on our buoy's that mark the main shipping channel. We put together 2 half days on December 29 for two different ladies and their sons. Kind of unique to have two separate trips with Mom's and their sons: Jill and Eric, half day in the morning, and Andria and her son Andy (6 years old), half day in the afternoon: Eric caught a 12 lb tripletail which really put up a great fight before he got it to the boat. He fought it LIKE A PRO! Don't see many young men that know how to fight fish that well. He and Mom Jill caught numerous other species including a nice black drum and we had a great morning. Check out the nice REVIEW that Jill wrote and you can see a couple pictures. Andria and Andy in the afternoon boated at least 5 Spanish Mackerel and a few other species. Talk a bout a TREAT, a 6 year old that really knows how to fish, catch fish, baited his own hook, had excellent manners, and enjoyed his time on the water! Really nice to see Mom's and their son's enjoying a GREAT time together. We also targeted Redfish and Snook but they evaded us. Just goes to show, you never know what you will catch when your out enjoying the day!
