We booked the half day charter and requested deep sea fishing for our group of 7 ages 14-44 and boated 9 yellow fin, black fin and skipjack tuna. Joseph and Joe were our captain and first mate and they did an awesome job of finding birds on the radar and getting us on the bite. Joe said it was their first trip off “the wall” of the season because the wahoo bite was ending and the tuna was just starting. We had multiple times where more than one line was down and had some excitement reeling them in! By late morning it was hot and some of the members of our group were not feeling well, so make sure you take something for motion sickness if you have issues. Keeping a cool wet towel or t-shirt handy was helpful and thankfully didn’t ruin our appetite. We went for lunch afterward at Mango Reef where they prepared our tuna for us. All the staff at Grand Slam fishing charters were kind and helpful and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fun day of fishing and delicious meal!

Our party of 4 went on a 3/4 day fishing trip (48’ boat) with Grand Slam Charters on December 29th, 2023 with Captain Joseph Musgrove and mate “Island Joe” Lightbourne - the dynamic duo! I can’t speak highly enough of our fishing trip. We had limited experience with deep sea fishing (only in Alaska), but Captain Joseph and mate Joe were extremely patient in educating us and getting us sorted out and ON THE FISH! We caught 8 really large fish (Wahoo and Barracuda). They are both super cool and by the end of the trip, we felt like we were fishing with family. After our trip was over, Captain Joseph asked us what we were going to do with the fish (we were cooking them ourselves as we were staying in a house) so he could filet them properly for what we wanted. For some of the Wahoo, he expertly prepared large full filets (skin on) for the BBQ, skinless filets for fish and chips, and some for sashimi. We were able to donate the remaining fish to locals. We can’t thank Captain Joseph and mate Joe for such a great time. Special thanks to Guest Manager Tatiana Cleare for her excellent communication and taking such good care of us. Book them; you won’t regret it. Also, don’t forget to show your appreciation by appropriately tipping the crew!

My two teenage sons had a blast out on the blue waters of TC! Joe was awesome and gave very good instructions on how to reel in those big fish. The adrenaline rush my boys got when the reels started screaming! The boat was nice and felt safe which was my top priority going out on the water. I’m sure the bathroom was nice but I didn’t use it because I was afraid I would miss videoing my sons catching fish so I held it lol. Thank you Joe and Grandslam!

Today was a good day! We started the day with a cuda waking us all up on the way out. Landed some skip jacks and then another cuda. What we thought was the end of day came quick. And then……… we started to reel in and that’s when we all heard that line zip like it hadn’t all day! After 50 mins of fighting and rod passing, the Valenty and Carter crew landed a 12’ 550 lb Blue Marlin! Joe/Joe were on it from the start. Very professional and will absolutely have my business again. We cannot thank them enough. Bucket list Check today! Way to go Guys! We had an amazing day on the water. The captain and crew, Joseph and Joe, were amazing.  We had a slow star and struggled to find some fish. The crew didn’t give up and all of sudden we hit pay dirt. We came across a school of tuna and would have had an epic haul. When it was all done we caught 6 skippers, a 45 pounder yellowfin tuna, and a Mahi. It was an awesome day. After we got back the captain sliced up some sashimi! We took some of the tuna to Mango Reef and had one of the best meals I have ever eaten. If you plan to fish in Turks and Caicos you need to book Grand Slam
