Split Hook Guide Service provides great, family-friendly fun for anglers of all ages! Whether you bring your kids, friends, or parents, you’ll have a great time fishing on board. It’s not really how skilled you are, but how much you enjoy your time. The techniques can be learned and you’ll inevitably get better with practice, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any previous experience. Just take the rod in your hand and the rest will come naturally.
Captain Payton offers shared trips, which means you’re being charged by person. If there’s 4 of you in your group, you’ll have the boat for yourself. But even if your fishing buddies aren’t coming along, you can always share the adventure with other anglers.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 23’ Stoner boat, powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine. This is a brand new bay boat, built in 2020. She features new navigational electronics, a live bait tank, and a cooler.
When it comes to your targets of the day, you’ll go after the “Big Three” of Texas inshore scene - Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. You’ll mainly use light tackle and drift fishing, or switch to popping and jigging. You get to keep the fish you catch and the captain will clean it for you after the trip.
All fishing equipment is included in the price and bottled water is also available on the boat. Feel free to pack drinks and snacks for the day, just don’t forget to prepare your fishing license.
