Come to Rio Hondo in Texas and stop by Western Charters if you’re in the mood for a relaxing and fun day of fishing. Captain Abel Esparza will take you on river, inshore, and flats trips and will help you have a good time on the water as well as return with a good catch.

You’ll be using a 24’ El Pescador bay boat that sits up to 3 guests. It’s powered by a 130 HP Honda engine and is equipped with all the electronics needed for a secure and effective trip. It features an ice-box as well as a livewell.

You and the Captain will be fishing the Arroyo for Alligator Gar, Redfish, and Speckled Trout. You can also venture into the flats and target many saltwater species. Using light or heavy tackle, you’ll have the chance of trying out various fishing techniques, such as bottom fishing, spinning, drift fishing, and popping. You’re welcome to bring kids along and you can keep every fish you catch.

All the rods, reels, lures, as well as live bait will be ready for you when you arrive on the boat. The captain will clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip, free of charge. Included in the price are drinks as well. You’ll only need to bring your licenses and food.
