Time Off Fishing Charter is a family-owned and operated fishing charter in Shalimar, Florida that has fished these waters for over 20 years. If you’re looking to have fun and catch fish, then look no further! Except for being a good-humored angler, Captain Jason Yates is an army combat veteran and a full supporter of the military, first responders, law enforcement, and more!  He and his crew are here to make your trip exciting, fun, and memorable. Your trip starts on a 27’ ProKat Catamaran big enough to take 6 guests. Running on twin 200 HP Yamaha engines and rigged with all the modern navigation electronics, the boat will quickly and safely get you to the fish. The boat is equipped with outriggers, downriggers, a livewell, as well as a wireless trolling motor. There’s a portable toilet you can use and an ice-box to store your drinks and food. For any help you may need, feel free to ask the first mate.

Some of the fish you can target includes Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Trigger, Grouper, Amberjack, Mackerel, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, Tuna, Cobia, and many more. You’ll attract fish by bottom and deep sea fishing, trolling, jigging, spinning, and drift fishing. Kids are welcome to come aboard and you can keep the fish you catch.

Captain Jason covers you for everything from fishing gear to drinks to licenses, and will even clean and fillet your catch for free. Before you go, just bring the food of your choice and you’ll be all set.

Captain Jason was born and raised in a military family. When they moved to the Florida Panhandle in 1993, he met some friends who were into fishing and from then he was hooked! The captain's been an avid fisherman since and he purchased his first boat in 2015. From there he has mainly fished the Gulf to this day. Captain Jason loves taking people out to fish and enjoys friends and family catching more than himself. At that point, he decided to go to Sea School and get his captain's license. Now, he's here doing what he's always wanted to do and that's fish for a living.

We set out today to specifically target these large strong fighting fish and these young men took car of business! These amberjacks were a heck of a fight especially when you can see the sharks chasing them and then you know you have to hurry up and get that big boy in the boat lol. Caught and threw back many and kept a nice size one. Great job y’all!

Had an exciting morning with my Tennessee folks! Caugt some bait to start off and headed for the big fish. Once we got there it was on! We smashed the Amberjack, Sharks, and a Stud Grouper! They will definitely be eating good for a few days :)

Had a blast reeling up these big ole fish! One of the strongest fighting fish in the sea and they did an awesome job catching them. Sharks were everywhere and having their share of the fish as well lol… but we managed to get a few on the boat and bring home dinner!
