Captain Mario and Shorty were very knowledgeable about what was biting and knew all the history about the bay. Mario is a 3rd gen PV fisherman, after his dad and grandfather. Mario’s dad hosted Richard Burton on his boat several times in the 70’s (thus the name of the boat ‘Burton III’).

This trip was a gift for my mother’s 70th Birthday and we were delighted to catch four 25-30lb Jack Caravelle. Saw a couple of sting rays, too. Would recommend Mario and crew and we plan to be back for another trip!

My husband and I had a fantastic fishing trip. We caught multiple fish which was a lot of fun. We didn’t catch any fish we were able to eat but none the less it was a great time. At one time we had three fish on to get in. Some were fighters and were fun to catch. The cleanliness of this team was above and beyond. They cleaned up after every catch and make it easy to catch and release without slipping all over water, etc. They overhead me asking about whales and dolphins and made sure they did what they could to give us a glimpse. We ended up seeing two pods of whales and a lot of dolphins which were amazing. They went above and beyond and we could go again if we could!

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a deep sea fishing trip with an outstanding crew, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the moment we set sail, excitement filled the air, and it wasn’t long before the reels were spinning.

Our haul was nothing short of impressive - we hooked a total of 15 white Bonita, each one a testament to the abundance of marine life beneath the surface. But the excitement didn’t stop there. Throughout the day, we were treated to the breathtaking sight of several majestic humpback whales gracefully breaching the waves, adding an extra layer of magic to our adventure.

What truly made this trip unforgettable, however, was the exceptional skill and dedication of our captain and first mate. Their knowledge of the sea and unwavering commitment to ensuring our enjoyment and safety were evident from start to finish. Not only did they expertly guide us to the best fishing spots, but they also shared fascinating insights about the local ecosystem and wildlife, enriching our experience even further.

Overall, my deep sea fishing expedition exceeded all expectations. It was a thrilling adventure filled with excitement, natural beauty, and unforgettable moments. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough to anyone seeking an unforgettable oceanic adventure. Huge thanks to the captain and crew for making it an experience of a lifetime.

We started the day with a quick catch of two jack crevalle, fun to bring in! Then Mario took us up close to see mama and baby whales. Then out farther to sea… caught so many white bonnita we lost count! Had three or four fish on several times! (Saw several more whales on our way back in.)

Mario was easy to communicate with and knowledgeable about where the action was. It was obvious he takes this seriously and wanted us to have a great time.

Bonus was taking our catch to a local restaurant for a feast!

We had the best experience with Captain Mario and the Burton III crew. We went out and did the 10 hour fishing!!
Message the day before our trip from the Captain was great as a reminder of our day with them, always responded to any inquiry very quickly which helped to arrange and figure out the day. Overall we found the Captain amazing and the whole experience very professional and he was an extremely knowledgeable Fisherman. I would highly recommend anyone for this trip!
Now with the day of fishing.. all I can say is WOW.. We were 4 adults, 2 Dads with their adult Sons, sorry mom but..,!!  I could not have scripted a better day to spend with our sons.  Once outside the bay, lines went in and than the excitement started. We caught a number of Dorado like a lot .. I’ve never experienced so many fish ons !! they were biting and we were doing the fish dance (some had 2 left feet lol) at the back of the boat getting them in… some really big ones that put up a great fight. We took a number of great videos and pics was amazing
Thank you for filleting a number of fish for us as we took back to have our catch prepared at a local restaurant for the 10 of us on our vacation!! The fish was amazing btw .. the restaurant prepared ceviche (lots) and fish a number of ways .. what a night for the family dinner!!

If anyone and I mean anyone is looking for that type of experience, I highly recommend Mario and the Burton III crew for their special day.. I know it’s called fishing, but on this day, we were catching!!
