Quite honestly Travis was the most receptive and accommodating learned Fisher man/Captain i have met. Not having fished in waters like this before he taught me in a short time pretty much everything you would need to know. Water temps tides ebb and flow where the fish might be at that time of day. how the bait fish or shrimp come out of the grasses put me on some fish even though water temps were high and storms were coming. hooked four landed two due to my lack of knowledge.

When considering a trip the things I want most from a captain are:
Good communication skills, a cool dude to hang with for the day, a good comfortable boat, a captain that knows the water and area, professional equipment, great conversation, awesome teaching skills, multiple bait options, fishing knowledge and tons of spots if they don’t bite easily! That IS a big list and I know that’s a ton to expect…I’ve been fortunate to fish from Maine to Key West and all areas in between the season. Captain Travis is the only captain who checked off every item on this list. He is truly a pleasure to fish with and works very hard to accommodate all fisherman with all levels of fishing skill. My daughter and I had an awesome day on the water with him, she does not get much time to fish anymore and he worked right up to the last cast to get her the big fish for the trip. Spent a half day with Capt.Travis fishing for Trout, Flounder, and possibly a Red. Capt had to break a few of my freshwater habits when it came to casting and landing, but once I finally got my act together,  I ended up snagging a 28 to 30” Bull Red and a sizeable Trout. Missed quite a few due to my learning curve, but Capt.Travis certainly put me in a position for success. Highly recommend Bight Charters for your next trip out.

Rain.  It looked like rain. The weathermen had it down sure to rain.  But Travis, the Captain, was game and ready to take us.  We hit the water under the clouds and were in fish all day, including one big red fish and a monster trout that will get talked about for a long time. And, a school of Jacks came cruising by.  One hit a top water lure and it felt like he was driving a small SUV. Boy Howdy, I will not forget that one in a hurry.  It was a fine day.  Full of good action and fine fellowship. Fishing is never a sure thing, but Travis maneuvered and probed the best spots. We felt like we were in the hands of an expert. As an added treat, a time or two there were enough dolphins around us to lose count. And, it did not rain.

Cpt Travis knows the waters in his area.  We caught fish at every spot he took us.  He is a great teacher along with his great sense of humor.  Fishing with Travis is like meeting up with an old friend and you just start fishing.  We had a great time and caught a mix of blues and trout.  We netted well over 20 fish and due to our lack of skills, did not catch a lot more as the fish were biting.  We did improve our fishing through the trip with Cpt Travis’s coaching tips.  I would highly recommend this Charter.  His boat is new and very nice to fish 3 people easily.
