Awesome first time experience with captain Matt! Captain Matt was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about the area and knew all the best spots, our trip started out catching mackerel which all of us enjoyed just catching our bait. The boat had plenty of room for 4 big guys, very well maintained and was easily the cleanest looking ship in the harbor. Captain Matt didn’t have a deckhand the day we went out but easily maneuvered his ship, baited our lines and even casted into the best spots for us with ease. Very easy going captain for four inexperienced anglers. Wasted no time in spots we weren’t having luck in and moved us around to better spots. We caught 4 striped bass but only 2 of which we could keep due to regulations, captain Matt bent over backwards to make sure we had fish to bring home and did not disappoint. Great captain, great boat and great taste in music! 10/10 would highly recommend the Lyla Rose and plan on taking another trip next year, thank you Captain Matt!

Not going to lie here, I was nervous booking because I wasn’t sure how legit this app was, but without a doubt now it’s amazing!! I booked a 5hour trip, We had the best trip ever!! It was planned as a surprise for my other half for his birthday. Our captain was so amazing and outgoing, made us feel like we were part of the family. He was just as excited when we were ripping lips as we were. I would absolutely recommend this fishing charter!! We started our day fishing for bait, and then it was off to seek something bigger. We landed in a sweet spot for striper. Kept what we are allowed (max 1 per person). That didn’t stop us for spending the next 3 hours ripping lips for fun! Totally had a blast and definitely plan to make this an every year adventure, will more than likely plan an 8 hour trip next time!

We went out with Captain Matt and Trevor on Saturday 5/13 and had an unbelievable time. We knew it was early season and thus did not have extremely high expectations for catching fish but we did well regardless.

More importantly, both Matt and a Trevor were amazing hosts that were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and chill. Guys you would want to hang out with regardless.

The three of us that are really into fishing all caught bass including a keeper that was so delicious. My wife went more for catching the views from the water and she loved that as well.

We are already working on planning our next trip and looking forward to going out with this team again!

My family went on a 3 hour mid-day in-shore fishing trip with Captain Matt, and it was really great! We caught 4 stripers including one keeper. Matt fileted it for us, and we ate it for dinner—delicious! When my son caught a fish, a crowd of patrons watching from a restaurant on shore cheered us on! Captain Matt was really great with our two boys. He was both patient and enthusiastic and knew all the great spots. He was also an expert on Gloucester and seem to know every boat in the harbor. Strongly recommend this trip. We’ll definitely book again with Captain Matt.
