The only negative was the water was extremely choppy. All 4 of us ended up sick!

The choppy water didn’t stop the captain and crew from working extremely hard to get my son in a big one. We had a second sail on but he got off the hook.

We planned on a 6 hour trip. My son caught his fish about 3 hours in. Due to the waves we decided to call it.

If it weren’t so choppy would have headed to Isla Mujeres and tried for some barracuda’s ,jacks, etc.

Over all it was a great day. I highly recommend.

The enthusiasm of the captain and crew from Chili’s Sportfish is unmatched!  Fished two days with these guys targeting sailfish. We had a few opportunities day one with one fish breaking off and a couple of runoffs that didn’t come tight. The crew was very attentive to the lines in the water and were always ready to spring into action for a bite. With no sailfish landed the first day and the captain not wanting to send us back to the dock empty handed, we stayed out and tried for some bottom fishing, caught snapper, amberjack etc. for the dinner table. Day two we left the dock early under the suggestion of the captain, and his persistence paid off! After a bit of searching around captain and crew were able to put me and my buddy both on our first couple of sailfish. Amazing experience! I would definitely fish with these guys again!

Captain Rogelio and Fernando were amazing to work with! It was a treat to catch the fish that we did. I was so impressed with these guys. They work the whole time. We got our workout when the fish were on. The work paid off. We caught a sailfish and got two wahoos in the boat (one which was trophy size). We lost two other wahoos.
They fileted the fish into butterfly steaks and shared with us how to prepare them on the grill.
While on the boat, they served the best chicken sandwiches with drinks and snacks.
We had an incredible time and what a rush it was to catch these fish!

Not only did Rogelio and Fernando find us fish every 10-15 min.  We went snorkeling over the reef as well.  Fernando had my 5 year old daughter on the throw life preserver and ensured me multiple times he was good and she was having fun.  Didn’t think I was going to get much sight seeing done myself but Fernando fought the current with her in tow and she had a great time.  Thanks Fernando.  Rogelio also filleted our catch and we took it all back to our spot for the grill.  These guys set the bar pretty dang high in my opinion.  Take care fellas.

Rogelio runs a great operation.  Mahi hunting the paddy’s takes a lot of expertise and hustle. Unlike other charters who only bring 1 for paddy fishing Rogelio brought 2 stellar mates, Luis and Fernandez. These guys worked the spread, baits and colors like I have never seen. Not in Cabo, Texas Gulf, Emerald Coast, Florida, Belize, Trinidad or the Keys. Nephew Derek kept line tight on this big bull that fed the familia from Southeast Texas. (Along with a few other mahi). If you dont appreciate deck work and are cheap on tipping mates…..please don’t waste these guys time. Disclaimer. Never met or did business with Chili Sportfishing in Isla Mujeres before. But will make it an annual experience thanks to Rogelio, Luis and Fernandez.
