Took a 5-hr offshore trip with Captain Paul and mate Matt. Upon arrival at the dock,  Capt. Paul advised that action had been slow offshore recently, but we started the trip in the deeper water at my request. After not finding much luck in the deep water, we moved back closer to shore and immediately started catching fish as Paul had advised. Caught multiple barracuda and cero mackerel as well as a mutton snapper and a few smaller yellowtail.  Was a fun day on the water with guys who know the area, can put fish in the boat and are clearly stewards of the fishery.  I would highly recommend Fish Slayer charters.

We had an amazing day on the water with Captain Paul and his brother Matt. My wife and I caught Barracuda and yellow Jacks inshore and I hooked a monster Blue Marlin. We battled over a half an hour the marlin kept diving and running out my line and I would fight for every inch of line bringing him back up only for him to dive again and the battle was on again I was physically and mentally exhausted he got within 10-15 from the boat where we got a good look at him Capt Paul said he was an easy 7 plus foot and at least 200 lbs. just when I thought the fight was over he tried to dive again and the hook popped out. Even though we didn’t get him up along side the boat for a photo opp. I had the time of my life. I am already looking forward to another trip out with Paul and Matt and maybe, just maybe, picking another fight with that Blue Marlin.

Went went out with Capt Paul and Captain-in-training Mat, and First Mate Rob for a 5-hour trip, targeting Wahoo. It was a family trip, myself, my wife and two adult sons. My older son hooked a heavy fish which took 20 minutes of hauling-in before we could identify it, sadly it was a shark. We caught an assortment of fish, tuna, Yellowtail Snapper, Bonita, etc., but no Wahoo. It was my call, and the crew did everything they could to hook-us-up with a Wahoo. So here is my message to those reading: I believe this is an excellent fishing ground on the west end of PR, very under-fished, especially in comparison to the San Juan area. A few Wahoo had already been caught, but the season was just starting (early Jan). Captain Paul is very knowledgeable as is First Mate Rob, who changed rigs and tactics repeatedly, tirelessly, with enthusiasm, throughout the day, right up to quitting time. He is a personable guy who worked his butt off for us. Capt Paul extended well past our 5 hours, taking us over the reefs in effort to put more fish in the cooler. Much appreciated! The West End of PR is the leeward side of the island, much calmer water than the East End. Traveling from the marina, there are various depth reef areas extending to a 300+ foot drop into the pelagic fishery, just 30 minutes out. Fish Slayer has a head and an area to lie down in for a quick nap, which my wife happily made use of. So, that’s it; the area is great, the boat is accomodating, and the crew is excellent!

Paul and Matt are great guides and fun people to fish and learn with for a day.  My wife and I brought along our nearly 8 year old son and we could not have asked for a better experience.  Paul and Matt were fun, informative, and patient with us as we fished.  Amazing experience, we caught plenty of fish and even got advice on where to take our catch to have it cooked after.

Paul and his crew were awesome! Not an ounce of laziness amongst this boat, they had 8+ lines fishing at all times. Constantly checking lines for grass and changing rigs according to the bite. They were super nice and patient with my 3 young sons. We caught 30+ fish off of the reef, 12 different species. The knowledge and professionalism of this crew is second to none. They even fileted our catch and gave them to the marina restaurant staff for our fish tacos! I will be booking the Fish Slayer on our next trip to Puerto Rico.
