My son and i went out on an afternoon 4 hour trip.  Captain Tony and Mate Robert were knowledgable and friendly.  We trolled using 4 rods for 4 hours.  My teenage son caught 2 Mahi while trolling through floating vegetation in deep water.  The mate switched our tackle to larger lures and bait in an effort to attract larger species.  He was successful and I reeled in a sizable Blue Marlin with the help of the crew.  The boat was clean with plenty of bait, tackle and beverages.  I estimate the boat to have been approximately 30’ with a diesel inboard.  I stayed at Beaches Ohco Rios and transportation was arranged by the boat’s owner via text messaging.  Jimmy, our driver was personable, pleasant and shared lots of details and anecdotes of the surrounding area and people.  The trip cost $950USD including tips and transportation.

So my husband booked this for our 1st trip to Jamaica,  it was the only thing he wanted to do. We went with our 2 boys but myself and both boys got pretty bad sea sick and they turned around.  They offered us several other things to do instead and went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible.  The crew was super nice but unfortunately we just couldn’t do it.  Hopefully my husband can go without us one day and we or he will use Isalnd Dog.

My husband and I did a half day fishing trip with Island Dogg.  The driver picked us up at our resort and it was a short drive to the pier.  We felt very comfortable with all the measures to protect and sanitize.  Our temp was taken and we had to use sanitizer before we got in the taxi.  We also had another temp check to get onto the pier, and hand sanitizer.  Yet another temp check and sanitizer before we got onto the boat. 

Our captain and deck hand had water and beer available to us.  They put out 6 lines, but unfortunately, we didn’t have any bites.  That is why they don’t call it catching.  However, despite the lack of fish we enjoyed being out on the water.  The boat was big and spacious and well maintained for a fishing boat.  If we ever find ourselves back in Ocho Rios we would give them another try.

This was an awesome experience. Wanted to this since I was kid. And the crew Batman and Robin were awesome on trying to get us on fish and teaching me the jamacian way to troll. Was told to look for birds find the birds find the fish. And when we found the birds it was lights out. Tunas were blowing up the water at one point we had a triple and quadruple headers. Just everything we were hoping for in this trip. We got 2 of our 3 bucket list fish caught! And they were very accommodating with me switching days around for the weather. Just awesome day on the water!

Started slow than 15 tunes later and on the way back in caught a nice Blue Marlin. Arm is sore today. Crew was Great.
