I should have known to trust Fishing Booker - I have never had a bad experience when I do.  Fishing with Juan was no exception.  He and Mate Darin were awesome, first class, and HONEST*.  We were fishing immediately, had fish in the boat within 5 minutes of wetting a line.  They were always conscious of if we wanted a snack or beverage.  They never stayed in one spot too long.  Fished several different ways.  Juan and Darin really went the extra mile!!!!  They also from the very beginning communicated with us.  As far as time, location, amount of money to bring.  Even assisted in helping us find transportation to Marina.  I truly can’t say enough good things about the experience with Captain Juan and Mate Darin and Fishing Booker.

* If you don’t book with someone reputable you could get scammed and robbed- trust me from experience .

The next time I go to Costa Rica I’ll definitely be booking Juan again.

For the record I work in this industry and charter at least 20+ trips annually.

Had a fun half day with Capt. Juan and Rafael fishing inshore for Roosterfish.  Were able to hook up with 4 good size roosters, and this was our plan for a short day.  Boat was clean and comfortable.  Captain and deck hand worked hard to keep us on the fish.

We really enjoyed our trip with captain Tito and Roy. They took care of us and worked hard to make sure we caught fish. Much better than our last experience in Mexico However when we were returning to the marina they put a sign up facing the front of the boat which read “the tip is 20% of the price of the trip”. This lead to an awkward situation because we had no more cash on us. We had given him all our money at the start of the trip which included a %12 tip - we just rounded up $720 to $800. And where we come from that would be considered a decent tip. We’re blue collar people and this fishing trip and coming to CR is our retirement dream trip which we have been saving for for years. So for the sake of us common folk please clearly detail what the minimum gratuity % is expected by the captain when we are shopping for and booking these trips through your app. That is the upfront and ethical way to operate a business. Nobody enjoys an embarrassing situation at the end of what was a wonderful experience.

Great day aboard Fish Hunter! Juan Jose and Rafael were amazing in every aspect of the trip. Plenty of fish, Rooster, Snapper, Corvina and Jack!!!

Wanted to at least try for a rooster fish even though it wasn’t the best time of the year for them.  They eluded us, so we headed out to the snapper fishing grounds and the action picked up.  Caught many different varieties of snapper and enjoyed the day.
