Captain George owns and operates Wahoo, a 34’ Lightning powered by a single 350HP Cummins engine, with a maximum capacity of 8 passengers per charter. Captain George has been a member of the fishing industry for more ten years, chasing a wide range of Sydney’s most popular pelagics. Apart from running charters, George also fishes competitively and has participated in numerous local tournaments over the last 15 years. Among his sportfishing achievements are a 207.5kg Blue Marlin and a 280kg Mako shark.
The Wahoo is furnished with a standard collection of navigational utilities and marine electronics, including GPS, VHF radio, Fishfinder, sonar and radar. Among others, Wahoo’s on-board facilities include a toilet, 5 beds as well as a kitchen with a stove. Captain George and his first mate specialize in a variety of fishing methods and techniques, and will supply your party with the necessary fishing equipment for the day, although you are welcome to bring your own favorite gear if you prefer. As for novelty fishing types, fly fishing and spearfishing equipment are not provided, but you’re free to bring along your own.
The Sydney area is home to a variety of big game bruisers to target on your charter, depending on the time of year. The likes of Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore, Kingfish, Jewfish, Dorado, Bonito and several species of Sharks all congregate along the fishing grounds, making Sydney a staple fishery of the New South Wales. For targeting these and other seasonal species, the Wahoo crew provides live, dead and artificial bait on their trips, depending on what you’re going after.
Fishing licenses for all members of your party are included in the price. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks, or the Wahoo crew can organize it for you for an extra charge. Pickup policy is typically suited to your location, so feel free to inquire for more details.
