FUNYET Charters takes you exploring the flats of the Lower Keys. You will get the chance to chase Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, Sharks, Mangrove Snapper, and some Redfish on both sides of the island. There are numerous flats scattered around the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico waters and you will have a knowledgeable captain by your side to help you out.
Capt. John has been in the business for over 30 years but has fished his whole life, spending summers around the flats and backcountry waters in the area. Plus, he’s a seasoned diver and has two degrees from the Florida Institute of Technology. He will help both novice and experience anglers have a good time on the water.
You will be fishing from an 18’ Action Craft flats boat powered by a 150 HP Mercury engine. Up to two adult anglers can come along and there is enough space for one child in addition. The boat carries the required safety gear and the captain will also provide a cooler. You’re welcome to bring a medium size cooler of your own for foods and drinks.
The captain can pick you up at various locations in the area. Please note that most trips are catch and release, but occasionally the captain may make an exception and take you fishing for food on artificial lures. Most of the time, however, you’ll be fishing with medium size spinning tackle or light tackle. You will find Penn gear onboard and the fishing license is included in the trip price. You should bring a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, a camera, food and drinks, water to stay hydrated, as well as a towel.
These trips are a perfect option for anglers with some experience but can also work well for novice anglers. You’ll have the captain’s full attention and a good chance to improve your fishing skills. This is a promise of a fun day with no choppy seas to worry about. Book your spot on time and get your fishing buddy.
