Tails Up Guide Service – Rockport
Tails Up Guide Service offers inshore fishing adventures serving the areas of Rockport, Portland, Port Aransas, and Aransas Pass, Texas. Captain James Sabo has over 20 years of fishing experience, with 17 years of experience fishing the flats. He knows all the best spots in the area, and he’ll make sure you have a productive trip.
He fishes aboard a 25’ Haynie center console boat that provides a comfortable ride for up to 5 anglers. It can travel in the shallowest of water to catch the biggest inshore fish. The boat has quality Garmin marine electronics, a trolling motor, and an anchoring system, all designed to give you the best inshore fishing experience.
Capt. James specializes in fishing with topwater lures and soft plastics, although he is also happy to fish with live or dead bait at the customer’s preference. This could include mullet, mud minnow, crabs, and sea lice, depending on the type of fish that is being targeted.
These are prolific waters, so you can expect to come across a variety of prized inshore species. Your trip will involve sight casting and shallow water stalking for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Flounder, and sometimes also Sheepshead, Jack Crevalle, and even Tarpon.
All anglers need to buy a Texas saltwater fishing license with a saltwater stamp before their trip. You can buy these at Texas Parks and Wildlife, Deep Sea Headquarters in Port Aransas Texas, or at Rockport Tackle Town. Children under the age of 13 should have a life jacket, as the type 1 vests supplied on the boat can be uncomfortable for smaller kids.
All you need to do is book a trip with Tails Up Guide Service, and you’re in for a great Rockport fishing adventure!
