Fishing was a little slow, but that’s fishing.  Captain and first mate worked their butts off to get us on the fish and keep the bait fresh and would change up tackle to figure what was working that day.  We actually had an interruption in our trip, captain spotted two guy afloat their kayak had taken on water and was up right only 1/4 out of the water.  We pulled lines and motored to them.  We were able to get them out of the water but their kayak sank as we were getting them safely on board.  They had been treading water for over 20 minutes.  We took them back to port to file the report with the coast guard and get picked up.  Captain stop our time as soon as he spotted they guys in trouble, and after all was taken care of we went back to fishing.  They made sure that even though there was an interruption in our trip we got all of the experience we paid for, and that we were happy.  It speaks volumes to us that they did stop the trip to help out other sportsmen in need.  The guy said several boats had past by already.  The water can be unforgiving and we all have a duty to look out of each other out there.  Captain and firstmate were both very knowledgeable able fishing, not just as a charter but they showed us some beaches along the way that would be good to fish from shore.  We scuba as well and they pointed out some possible places to get down to the water to get to some places to dive.  They did a great job!

Great overall experience!  We booked somewhat at the last minute, a little confusion on timing and payment, but was worked out very smoothly over text and at the boat.  Boat was a little older and had some wear, but it is a fishing boat, you should not expect a luxury yacht.  All the equipment was well maintained and ready to go.  Captain and crew were amazing!  Very respectful and excited to have us on board, even the first few hours before we caught anything were energetic, engaged in conversation and passionate about what they did.  Even though we had not caught anything we were enjoying the company and the day.  Then all craziness broke through and we started catching fish!!  The crew was on top of their game and they were amazing, not only in coaching us but also their excitement and energy was contagious.  Could not of asked for a better experience and taking our fresh fish to Lucy’s and having them prepare it right after leaving the boat was a plus!  Great day, Great people and will be booking again when we are back next year.

The captain and crew - Joel and Dion - treated us to a four hours of fantastic fishing.  Two big Wahoos, one 35 pound and one 75 pounds, filled our cooler for the week and then some, plus being entertained by catching a few albacore tuna.  Joel, first mate, knows his craft well and shared many entertaining stories.  Dion was on top of everything Joel wanted to do to keep the lines wet and get the fish in the boat.  The boat is an old tried and true Bertram.  Function trumps frills for anyone who wants to catch fish.  There were five of us on the boat, and we all got to reel a fish in.  Had a blast.  Donald Waters, SF Bay Area, California

The first mate Joel and his teammate did an awesome job keeping the baits fresh while the captain looked for spots where the fish would be biting. Not as product catching fish as we had hoped but we enjoyed the morning and got to spend time with my two daughters boyfriends! We will be enjoying our fresh caught tuna on the grill tonight! Lately, thanks to Cindy for coordinating everything and making sure we got off the dock with everything we needed for the trip.
