You will be fishing aboard a 32’ Hewes Craft boat that can take up to six guests plus the crew. Powered by twin Honda engines, the boat is perfectly suited to fish the local waters. It features a range of navigational and safety electronics to get you to the fish while staying in contact with the shore, and you will love its covered cabin area and enclosed toilet.
The main target species on your trip will be Alaska’s two most famous saltwater sport fish: Salmon and Halibut. While you have probably tasted Salmon before, after fishing in Ketchikan you will notice that the fish you find in the supermarket are missing two essential aspects: the chase and the taste. There’s nothing quite like bringing a huge King Salmon into the boat, and Alaska King Charters will teach you the best and most enjoyable ways of doing just that. And if you manage to hook a Halibut, you will quickly find out how this delicate-tasting fish is anything but delicate when you bring it into the boat.
