Absolutely great time on the water!  Turk knew exactly what to do to get us on some fish.  We caught Cohos that had to be released because of current regulations, but did catch one keeper.  Also, several pinks for the smoker.  On the way out, the Captain dropped a crab trap and he surprised us - and himself - with the number of crabs in the trap.  Though they were numerous, most had to be released although we did get four to take home and they were yummy!  If back in the area, I would DEFINITELY fish with Captain Turkstra again and I highly recommend him and his boat.  Experience is a great plus, and his boat is super nice!

Andrew was very informative and had many great stories to tell! His boat was safe, had a washroom, and was spacious enough for our group of 6. The boat does rocks a lot on the waves in the ocean so take motion sickness medicine if you know you get dizzy in the water. We caught a couple of fish that we could keep, but it was quite exciting too when we weren’t catching fish. You can feel Andrew’s determination and enthusiasm as we’re trying to hunt down different types of salmon in different areas while also looking at the radar. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely come back!

Captain Andrew Turkstra was very pleasant and hospitable during our chartered fishing experience.  Captain “Turk” was able to answer all of our family questions about salmon fishing, the coastline and shared stories about fishing trip successes.

During our trip Captain Turk was focused on finding the ideal fishing grounds - our family of 4 all caught beautiful chinook and coho salmon ranging 6-24 lbs!

I was a bit unsure about fishing a place that is located to close to the city and populated waters. But it worked out prefectly well! Andrew knew all spots, that fish also know 😉 We had lots of bites and a pretty busy 4-hour trip. Unfortunately, we had to release most of them due to the protection regulations (size of chinooks & unmarked cohos). So there is enough fish left for others to try 😉
It was our 2nd trip with Andrew after 4 years and it again was great and remarkable. He is a great guy and fisher.

Captain Turk took me out with my 14-year-old triplets.  There is never a guarantee of fish, but we started catching salmon the moment the lines were in the water.  Everyone got a chance to land a salmon and we even got a few to take home for dinner. 

Captain Turk is great.  Even if we hadn’t caught a thing, it would have been a nice morning on the water with Captain Turk.
