Southeast Charters is based in Buras, Louisiana. Have you ever wondered why the area is known as the Redfish Capital of the world? Take a ride with Southeast Charters and you will find out! Captain Sal will introduce you to some fine angling opportunities and together, you will be able to bring a great collection of catches.
Step aboard his 26’ Reno center console boat. It comes powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine and has a maximum cruising speed of 50 knots, which enables a safe and dry ride. Capt. Sal has a great command of his electronics that include a GPS, a VHF radio, a radar, and a fishfinder.
The boat’s wireless trolling motor will make sure you have a quiet ride to your fishing grounds. There is also an anchoring system and a live bait tank. Up to 5 anglers are welcome on board.
Join Capt. Sal at the mouth of the Mississippi River and fish for Red Snapper, Cobia, Sheepshead, Redfish, Tripletail, Spotted Seatrout, Largemouth Bass, and Black Drum. You never know what else you will hook into. The area has brackish waters with all the nutrients that attract smaller fish that big Redfish feed on.
Capt. Sal will lead you to the hot spots to land the Bull Reds and will show you the best techniques. Your age and expertise don’t matter – from novice to occasional angler to pro, everyone is welcome to try themselves in spinning, popping, jigging, fly fishing, and even bow fishing.
Each trip with the crew is a fun and eventful experience with the fishing gear, tackle, bait, and lures fully stocked. Capt. Sal will provide ice for your drinks, so you can feel free to bring your snacks and refreshments with you. Once caught, your fish will be cleaned and filleted for you to take home for dinner.
