Trip Summary
Tropical storm Cindy shut down fishing for 6 days in the Gulf with 10-15 foot waves. The inshore water rise was around 3 feet with flood warnings inland and for the area streams and rivers. Lots of fresh water pouring into the bays and into the gulf. Inshore fishing and shrimping was poor due to all of the freshwater in the bay. The Red Snapper fishing continued to be outstanding. We have caught limits of snapper on every trip since the storm. We are catching King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, Cobia, and Bonito. We watched a 50lb+ Cobia get eat by a bull shark 10 feet from the boat. Lots of action in the Gulf!
The inshore fishing and shrimping will be back to normal in about a week when all of the fresh water is gone. Remember we love to take kids and families fishing!
Tight lines!
