Kenny Penrod III offers guided fishing along the tidal Potomac River. You can join him almost anywhere along the river from Washington DC to southern Maryland, targeting Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. Come aboard and test your skills against the hard-fighting fish that have come to define sport fishing as you know it!
You will fish the tidal Potomac aboard a 21’ Ranger 520 Bass boat powered by a 250 HP Mercury engine. This craft comes equipped with GPS, Fishfinder, and all the gear you need. There is room on board for two passengers, and children age 10 and above are welcome.
Guiding you is Captain Kenny Penrod III, a retired law enforcement officer who has been committed to fishing in more ways than one over the years. He is the former Vice Chairman of Maryland’s Black Bass Advisory Committee, and currently serves on the Maryland DNR “catch a poacher” board of directors. You will find him fishing all over the area, along the tidal Potomac, the Upper Potomac, and the Susquehanna River. You can come aboard for a full day of fishing or for half a day, with your choice of morning or afternoon.
While fishing the tidal Potomac you will target your catch by spinning and baitcasting with light tackle. Ardent reels, St. Croix rods, and Sunline fishing line are provided for you, along with Campground Tube fishing lures and case plastic fishing lures. You will primarily target Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, with the possibility of reeling in Striped Bass and Snakehead while you’re at it.
Please note that fishing with Kenny Penrod III is catch and release only. You are financially responsible for any lost lures or damaged equipment. Be sure to bring a fishing license that is valid for your chosen location.
