Great experience.  J.B. knows salmon fishing. He knows where to go and how to catch fish. He was a great host, friendly, and informative.  My son and I each hooked and landed two really nice fish. They put up a hood fight and made it a lot of fun. We took home about 60 lbs. of filets. How’s that for a good return on your money?! They tasted so much better than store bought.

We got an early start leaving before 3 am. Guys were ready on time at marina across from “the Lodge”.  Good thing we did because of 3 salmon we caught. All were first 1/2 of trip.  We caught a small 1 lb “shaker” (didn’t trigger the Dow digger) then a 12 and a 16 lb king salmon. We had 2 other hits but they got off shortly after the hit with no known fault of equipment so couldn’t be avoided.

Boat was perfect for my needs. Not brand new but had 2 seats, a cover to block sun and wind and a bathroom. Boat had good electronics. Fishing gear was excellent. Ran 7 lines in a nice spread of depth and baits.  For our trip the wind would occasionally blow exhaust into cabin depending partly on boat direction so need to open the most front bow vent to take care of that.

The captain J B was friendly and knowledgeable. Parker worked hard to keep the lines in the water. We never had any tangled lines or equipment problems. We caught all of ours on rigs tipped with real fish strips soaked in a special stained soak. Fish were netted quickly.

We were lucky with a perfect weather day. The lake was calm and the temperature comfortable.

The captain filleted the fish and even vacuum sealed our catch.

I had a great time. I would definitely go again if I get a chance.

It was a great trip for me and my friend! We had 5 hits. I lost 2,  the first one demolished the treble hook and got off, and one had to be 25 to 30 lbs. And screamed the line out over 500 ft. Finally got the king salmon in 50 ft. From the boat and he had thrashed his head so hard he got off. My friend was able to get his in the boat. He said it had fought harder than the Marlin he caught out of Mexico. I do believe we will be back!! July 19 2018

My 7 year old son set out to break husband record of a 25 inch fish, and he did that!! He caught a 25 pound, 37 inch salmon!

Captian JB is a kind, patient man with a lot of equipment and skill.
