Peake Tide Fishing Co. runs fishing trips around the lush waters of Chesapeake Bay. Depending of the time of the year, these waters boast a wide array of fish, ranging from Shad in spring, Reds, Flounders, Cobia, and Spadefish, and on top of that Striped Bass during fall and winter. Even better, Peake Tide Fishing caters to anglers of all levels and sizes, and can take on fly anglers as well.
With the help of Captain Josh, you will reach the fishing grounds and have a fun time on the water. Josh is a skilled captain who has been fishing these waters for a long time. Area-native, Josh knows these waters intimately but has honed his skills on other waterways around the US. He is committed to providing a quality fishing experience.
You will join Captain Josh on his 23’ Parker center console, designed for reliable and quiet trips. She is powered by a Yamaha 200 HP engine, and is fitted with Lowrance navigational electronics. The boat has a spacious, open, and clean layout that offers plenty of room for fishing. The vessel also boasts a custom built tower ideal for sight fishing for Cobia and massive Redfish. She can take up to four anglers.
As for the fishing action, well, it’s versatile to say the least. Spring will see you fishing the historic James River for Hickory and American Shad and Striped Bass (‘Rockfish’) on light tackle and fly. Use summer to explore the inshore waterways of the bay looking for Redfish, juicy Flounder, Cobia, Spadefish, and much more. Scout around flats of the Mobjack Bay or the Great Wicomico River for some nice bottom specimens. Once the fall hits, it’s all about that Bass. Head out from Kilmarnock for some water blast. Anglers are allowed two fish per person.
When packing for the trip, bring snacks, drinks, a cap, sunglasses, and sunblock. The captain will provide the fishing gear. Pack a camera to get a good shot of your catch. If you can’t find a spot here, just scroll down and click on captain’s name to check out his other boat.
