YB Normal is docked in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, ready and waiting to take groups out for a great day on the water. Captain Vinnie offers a range of trips, with four to eight-hour packages and the choice of coming as a group or jumping aboard a shared charter. With this many options, there is no excuse not to go fishing!

The YB Normal is a 43’ Torres sportfishing boat which has seen regular maintenance since the day she was built and makes for the perfect place for groups of six anglers enjoy a great day’s fishing. She has a comfortable, air-conditioned interior with a bathroom, galley, and plenty of space to relax in between bites.

She is also loaded with a literal boatload of equipment and tech to make sure you get some great catches. The latest electronics from Garmin and Furuno will sound out the deep and have you always fishing in the right spot. Outriggers and downriggers will maximize your spread and target species, and a fighting chair will let you hold your own against whatever you hook.

What you target will depend on the trip you choose. Half day charters will mainly drift and bottom fish around local reefs, targeting bottom species as well as a few fast-moving fish like King Mackerel and Bonito. Full and ¾ days can have you targeting anything from Tilefish to Sailfish, depending on what you want to get out of your trip.

Want to beat the heat and get some awesome catches while you do so? Book in for a nighttime Snapper charter, anchoring over local reefs as the sun goes down to target the big Yellowtail, Mangrove, and Mutton Snapper which come out after dark.

Whatever you do, you are in for a great time, with an experienced captain, quality equipment, and a whole ocean of awesome fish just waiting for someone to drop a hook in front of them. It might as well be you, right?

Captain Vinnie operates the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has worked aboard other boats in the area all his life. He loves being out on the water and getting groups on awesome fish. His favorite fish to catch is Black Grouper, but a huge part of what makes fishing so fun for him is never knowing what is going to bite next. This is what makes bottom fishing so fun for him - you can never tell what will take your bait!

Chilly Weather In Fort Lauderdale
Chilly Weather In Fort Lauderdale
Enero 24, 2022
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here for this weeks report we have some chilly weather right now in Fort Lauderdale, but what might be chilly for us down here may not be chilly for anyone that lives up north. Starting this report off we are going to go inshore... the fishing has of late could best be described as hit and miss, some days better them others thats forsure, I think we needed a few more cold fronts in order to push fish from up north to start there migration down towards fort Lauderdale, there has been a bunch of gamefish species around to catch but only 1 or 2 of that species daily. On the inshore side bottom fishing has been the thing to do we normally start off our days trolling because that is the best way to get some action but when trolling is slow we like to go bottom fishing because it is usually somewhat productive and a good way to put some fish in the cooler and have a great fish dinner. Fishing deeper structure for snapper has been good when the current is light, nice sized vermillion and yellow eye snapper have been biting fairly good also the occasional snowy grouper as well one of my favorites for the dinner table. A few amberjack are starting to show up as well on shipwrecks, live bait or vertical jigs have been the best bet for them, amberjack will start to show up in heavy numbers as we approach February and March. Moving offshore trolling has been hit and miss but seems either early morning or late afternoon have been the best to produce a few bites. blackfin tuna have been good sized and are being caught on the troll with small spoons fished under the surface with planners the tuna bite seems to be much better in the later afternoons then the morning. As far as morning goes, wahoo or bust has been the name of the game, trolling at quicker speeds has been the name of the game to hopefully entice a finky wahoo into biting. Bigger seawitch and bonito strips fished on planners or fished on the surface have been the best way to target the wahoo and depths from 200 to 500 feet. Shark fishing is beginning to pick up and should be something that will also improve as we approach the next few months. Fishing depths of up to 350 feet have been good when there is current. Hammerhead sharks have been the most common but there has been other species as well like the thresher shark we have pictured this week, shark fishing is a good way to tangle with something big if your looking for a fight that is defiantly the way to get it. Fishing is going to improve very shortly and its defiantly something to get excited about, be sure to check out some of the pictures this week of some recent catches during our deep sea fishing trips, also remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. January Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
January Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
Enero 18, 2022
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here hope everyone is doing well. This week fishing has been tough but I do have a report for you guys so here it is. Fishing in Fort Lauderdale this week like I stated earlier has been very very tough I mean tough! That being said we always give it 100% no matter what but it is fishing and there is no guarantee but we always give it our best! Starting offshore there has been a few quality fish around primarily wahoo, getting an early start has been the best bet and trolling sea witches and bonito strips on planers has been the best option depths of 200 feet to 500 feet have been the most productive for the wahoo. Trolling in the late afternoons before sundown has been good for blackfin tuna and small bonito using small spoons fished on planers. Also offshore sailfish have been around and live bait has been best all of the cold fronts we have been having should make the sailfish start moving south so any day we should see a large mass of fish right of the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Which is definitely something to look forward to. Bottom fishing has been productive on deeper spots around 400 feet, seems this time of year for some reason the shallower you fish the smaller the snappers, as you fish deeper and deeper the fish get bigger and bigger, like I stated earlier depths of 400 feet have been best, any type of structure in that depth has been holding very nice sized vermillion and yellow eye snapper averaging around 3lbs. The best baits for the snappers has been cut fresh squid fished on a multiple hook rig called a chicken rig. As far as inshore fishing this week there has been a few kingfish right on the edge of the reef and live bait has been best for them as well as a few bonito also. Fishing hasn't been the best this week but it should begin to improve very shortly so be on the look out for a report really soon. I do have some photos of some catches we had this week during some of our deep sea fishing charters so be sure to check those out. If you are coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing we would love to have you. Anyways as always beside sure to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and reports. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie more later.....
A Great Start To The New Year
A Great Start To The New Year
Enero 11, 2022
Hello everyone...Capt. Vinnie here I hope everyone had a great holidays and New Years, fishing down in Fort Lauderdale has been very good and I would love to tell you about it so lets start the report. This week in Fort Lauderdale starting inshore there has been a fair amount of Spanish mackeral on the beach side, trolling down the beach with small lures in about 10 to 15 feet of water has been best, mackerel are a great fish for the dinner table but also are great fighters making super fast runs as well. Just on the edge of the reef there has been sailfish like I said last week sailfish bite should continue to improve more and more every week, kite fishing has been the preferred method of attack for these guys and live bait is a must. Most of the sailfish we have been catching right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale have been in depths from 100 to 200 feet of water. Also something that we have been starting to see alot of is sharks. There has been an abundance of hammer head sharks in the area. Sharks are great gamefish, we are not able to kill any of the sharks that we catch but if your looking for a fight this is most certainly a bucket list item for most people!! Moving offshore there has been a fair amount of blackfin tuna, days that seem to be overcast have been best for these guys, small spoons and seawitches with strip baits have been best fishing a little on the deeper side as well from 300 to 500 feet. The next species that comes to mind that has been biting fairly well is wahoo, we have been doing quite well recently on this species right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Wahoo is a predatory gamefish that is super fast and has very sharp teeth big baits like rigged ballyhoo as well as bigger strip baits and bonito strips have been best for these guys depths from 180 to 400 have been the ticket and early morning seems to be the most productive. This time of year whenever we tend to have a strong wind from an easterly direction there is usually mahi mahi, more of a sometime fish we do catch a few of them in the winter time. All in all lots of variety right now in Fort Lauderdale and a great time to go fishing also. Last but not least bottom fishing for snapper has been productive, deeper wrecks and ledges have been best with small pieces of cut baits working well, the primarily snapper species have been vermillion but we have been getting a few yellow eye, lane, and mutton snappers in the mix also. If your coming down to the fort Lauderdale area and looking to do some deep sea fishing we would love to have you. Be sure this week to check out some of our great photos of some recent catches during our deep sea fishing trips. as always remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and pictures. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie more later......
