Enero

Winters can get quite cold in Slovenia and fly fishing is on pause, but passionate anglers still have plenty to do. Huchen fishing is at its peak and you can see many anglers trying to catch this fish, also dubbed as Danube Salmon.

Febrero

Spend the first half of the month chasing Huchen and make the most of it before the season closes on February 15. It’s cold outside and snow can make fishing difficult but avid anglers don’t give up easily.

Marzo

Just as Huchen are taken off the menu, Trout are re-entering in the first half of March. To keep things interesting, go out after Carp, and who knows, maybe you hook your next trophy!

Abril

Fly fishermen love April because it marks the opening of all waterways in the country. This means that Trout are biting left and right, there’s Grayling in abundance, and the weather is getting warmer every day.

Mayo

Marble Trout, Carp, Grayling – the choice is yours in May. There’s so much to target, and so many fishing spots to explore, that it’s hard to choose where to begin. Pike season is also in full swing.

Junio

Summer is right around the corner but the weather can be a bit unstable – be sure to bring your rain gear. Along with Trout and Carp, you can also go after Wels Catfish, which can grow to massive sizes and put up a good fight.

Julio

Whatever you’d like to like to target, you can do it in July! Bear in mind that some rivers become crowded with vacationers. Choose your fishing spot wisely and you’ll be rewarded with excellent catches.

Agosto

This is probably the hottest month of the year so fish are more active in the early morning, before the heat kicks in. If you’re in the mood for Carp fishing, head out during the night when they come out to feed.

Early fall days mean that everything from Trout and Barbel to Carp and Perch is getting ready for winter. They’ll be gorging themselves in preparation, which is the best news for anglers all over Slovenia. Make the most of this productive period!

Octubre

Marble Trout fishing is open until mid-month so get your fill of the action while you can. After that, you can move straight on to Huchen. If the weather remains mild, you can enjoy solid fishing until the end of the month.

Noviembre

Head to Sava Bohinjka for some first-class Huchen action, you won’t regret it! You can also try your luck by targeting Perch, Zander, Pike, and the occasional Trout in the rivers and streams, but expect rainy weather.

Diciembre

Even though it’s cold outside, there are many fishing opportunities. Head to Lake Bled for some stunning views and top-notch Carp fishing. Cast a line for Pike or spend a day targeting feisty Danube Salmon, the choice is yours!

Very comfortable boat with a great captain. We didnt catch as may big fish as we wanted but we still had a great time. The Captain was very knowledgeable and did almost all the work for us while we kept catching the fish. Will book him again when we go
