On a temperate November morning, I fished in the Niantic Bay with Captain Mike and Derryl and caught 14 blackfish in 3 hours. The biggest fish (photo) was 18.75 inches long. Mike and Derryl know where the fish are, and I hope to fish with them again in July and catch many species this time. I strongly recommend this fine fishing team.

We had an awesome day fishing on Oct 28, 2023 with Captain Mike Smith. Both Captain Mike and his First Mate Derryl made the day a lot of fun. We caught lots of fish, and our guides couldn't of been more accommodating. Also Captain Mike has a great play list of tunes we enjoyed listening to while we just killed it catching Tog and Porgies. Highly recommend Captain Mike if you want to catch fish and more importantly have a fun!

Went fishing on the Long Island Sound the first day of October with Captain Mike. My 12 year old and I had a blast! We caught several Bluefish, which fought like crazy, and some Porgy. It was well worth the three hours on the water, and I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a private charter!

Capt. Mike and First mate Derryl were terrific. I took my boys (ages 7 & 4) on their very first fishing trip and they loved it. We caught Porgy, Sea Bass, a few Sea Robin and a couple of sharks. It was a great first trip and they can’t wait to go back. Capt. Mike and Derryl were great with the kids.

What an absolutely WONDERFUL experience! My husband, daughter, and I truly had a great time onboard the Green Eyed Lady! Mike is an amazing captain and Derryl is such a pleasant mate! They taught us well, made the experience completely comfortable, and were very kind to my daughter. She was thrilled to get a pirate eyepatch from them! We left with plenty of fish and wonderful memories! We HIGHLY recommend Captain Mike! We will be booking again! Thank you!

My wife and I brought our 11 y/o son on a 3 hour excursion that had a little bit of everything - some bluefish that gave us a great fight and some fast-paced action with porgies, black sea bass, sea robins, and even a sand shark. Captain Mike and First Mate Derryl made sure we enjoyed ourselves and shared countless stories of their experiences. Highly recommend!

Mike is top notch! He put us on fish! Was totally fine with us wanting to do catch and release. Had a great time, boat was clean, had great local knowledge not just on fishing but everything local. History, restaurants you name it he knew and was humble and felt like he loved being out there.
We will definitely look him up once in the area again!

Chartered a boat with Captain Mike Smith Fishing Adventures for the wife and myself while she was out visiting from MI. Had an absolute blast slamming bluefish. First time we've ever caught these, amazing fighters. Captain Mike was great, very interactive and attentive, he taught us a lot. I highly recommend booking with him. If I'm still out here for work next season, we will be booking another trip.

Captain Mike is the best! We took our 6-year old son for a trip and Mike make it wonderful. He is kind and knowledgeable and made our son feel like a million bucks. We caught a lot of fish and had a great time doing it. The rods and reels were simple to use so Mike is a great captain for those new to fishing or for those with a lot of expertise. Highly recommend - we will be coming back.

Captain Mike is a very nice man and made the day fun for us! Even though the big fish weren’t biting he was still able to get us hooked on a lot of beautiful fish in no time at all! Brought the wife out for her first time Salt water fishing, and out on the ocean really. Had a perfect day, caught lots of fish. Capped off by fresh fish tacos for dinner. Captain Mike was a fantastic guide and trainer, all around great company. I've done party boats before but this was worlds better, i highly recommend a charter with Captain Mike! We're looking forward to setting something up with him again soon.

Captain Mike was a friendly and professional captain! We had so much fun! We caught baby shark, sea bass, a sea Robin. We saw huge blue fish jump out of the water, a bunch of jellyfish, a large school of small fish coming up to the surface! Captain was encouraging and inspiring to my son, and taught some great fishing tips and info, described the geography around us. It was a beautiful memorable day!! And he took pictures for us :-D
