Pesca en Lake Worth
Just south of West Palm Beach, Lake Worth should need no introduction to any angling enthusiast. This charming town is sandwiched between the freshwater fishery of Lake Osborne and the saltwater haven that is the Intracoastal Waterway. That means that fishing in Lake Worth is up there with the best in the world.
We’ll start with the freshwater fish on offer. You’ll find some of the most sought-after creatures biting away west of downtown. Largemouth Bass are usually the stars of the show wherever they can be found, but here they’re trumped by the dazzling Peacock Bass and exotic Clown Knife Fish.
When it comes to saltwater fishing, all the inshore favorites are on offer just a short hop from the center. Go after Snook, Jacks, Redfish, a whole host of Snappers, and even Tarpon in the Intracoastal Waterway. Head out to the reefs, and it’s all about Cobia, Amberjack, Barracuda, Mackerel, and more.
Meanwhile, the further you go, the better it gets. Head offshore and the Gulf Stream is home to monster Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and a number of Billfish. These fish promise to get the pulses racing and the muscles straining.
As you’d expect for a diverse fishery, there’s a range of trips on offer Inshore and freshwater trips start at half days and go up to full days on the water. While the nearshore and deep blue waters are reachable in half a day, we suggest you set aside at least 8 hours to make the most of it.
Reglas & Regulaciones
If you’re fishing in saltwater, your Lake Worth fishing charter will have your license covered. Fish inland, however, and you’ll need to get one yourself. But, wherever you go, your professional captain will make sure you’re sticking to all bag and size limits.
