Nearshore reef fishing is all about loading up on delicious fish, and a few extra hours are sure to be worth it. Lastly, while the world-class fishing grounds of “Sailfish Alley” are close, you should opt for a full day to get the most out of your trip.

Enero

Inshore, January sees very clear waters in Miami's Biscayne Bay. This makes for excellent sight fishing for species such as big Seatrout, Tarpon, and Bonefish. Nearshore, conditions can be windy. Sailfish are biting well.

Febrero

February is the beginning of high Bonefish season in Miami, which continues through June. Offshore, the Sailfish bite continues. Enter Miami's famous Sailfish Challenge Tournament and test your skills!

Marzo

Large schools of Bonefish and Tarpon are caught in the bay. Head just a couple of miles offshore, and you will be in for a treat - everything is biting. Go for Kingfish, Tuna, and Mahi Mahi.

Abril

Some Tarpon start to leave the Bay to start their northwards migration, but they will still be caught in large numbers through June. Miami wreck fishing gets better and better and Mahi are caught offshore.

Mayo

As the weather transitions towards summer, everyone wants to be on the water. Look out for the famous Miami Sportfish Tournament early in the month and the Bob Lewis Kids Fishing Classic on Memorial Day Weekend.

Junio

Tarpon begin to be replaced by large schools of Permit in Biscayne Bay, making for some excellent shallow water fishing. Offshore, head to the reefs for Kingfish, Bonito, and Blackfin Tuna.

Julio

Permit continue to hold in the bay, although the larger Tarpon have moved on. Offshore, there is excellent fishing over the reefs and wrecks for Snapper and Grouper, with Kingfish and Bonito biting well.

Agosto

Surface water temperatures are very hot, so the best fishing is early in the morning and later in the evening. Head offshore to deep drop for a real sea monster!

Septiembre

Bonefish are back on top form, as water temperatures are perfect for them. Troll slowly over the reefs for Kingfish and bottom fish for Snapper. Look for Sailfish as the weather cools towards the end of the month.

Octubre

Fall arrives with easterly winds blowing. This brings Mahi Mahi closer to the shore. Sailfish appear on the trail of schools of mullet that congregate over nearshore reefs.

Noviembre

Fishing continues to be very good, with the Sailfish bite picking up in earnest near shore. Blackfin Tuna and Wahoo can also be caught over the reefs, while inshore action remains as good as ever.

Diciembre

Tarpon begin to reappear in Biscayne Bay as they return from their migration in the north. Temperatures remain in the high 70s, making fishing very pleasant. Sailfish and Wahoo are biting well offshore.

Captain Danny and Matt were so hardworking trying many different methods to keep me on fish. They both created such a welcoming atmosphere and it was worth every penny. We had a great half day trip offshore, even though two of four got sea sick at times. We hooked a shark, a sailfish and king fishes, but they all managed to bite off both the lines and wires on their way to the boat. We got some smalker fish on board that we used as live bite for sharks. Peppe took good care of us and organized everything onboard. His boat was great as well.

We had a great time with Alek. It was my son’s first deep sea trip and he didn’t disappoint. He worked so fast that we always had lines in the water. He let my son do tasks on the boat which he loves. As soon as we got off the boat he said he’s going to move and become his first mate! Highly recommend Alek!

Capt. Zig and his first mate put us on the fish. Changed leaders, and spread set up to try and get bites anytime the bite felt like it was going cold. It’s nice only going out a few miles to be in trolling depth. We will use him again on our next trip.
