You may think all of Maryland’s fishing rotates around the Chesapeake Bay, but Ocean City, MD fishing charters are here to show you there’s much more on offer. “OC” was given the title of “White Marlin Capital of the World” by President Roosevelt way back when. It’s a must-visit if you want to experience some of the best fishing the East Coast has to offer.
It’s not all about big game fishing here, though. The Isle of Wight and Assawoman Bays offer prime inshore action, with Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, and Spotted Seatrout. Near the inlet and out towards the reefs, it’s all about Maryland’s state fish – Striped Bass, or Rockfish, as it’s known locally. These beasts swim with Black Seabass, Bluefish, Tautog, and many more to ensure a fishing frenzy.
However, the further out you go, the more exciting it gets. Tiger, Hammerhead, Dusky, Bull, Blacktip, and even Mako Sharks are on the prowl for some prey in summer. This is also peak season for Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Wahoo. Over 30 miles offshore, you can get your hands on these creatures and elusive White and Blue Marlin, so get ready for the trip of a lifetime.
Speaking of trips, inshore adventures are ideal for families and beginners, and can last anywhere from a couple of hours up to a full day. If you want to go after those trophy creatures offshore, you’ll need at least eight hours, with some captains offering overnight adventures.

Bill was an amazing guide. He called to let us know the weather wasn’t going to be the best and gave us the option to go out on a different day, which we are so glad we did. He was quick to respond to our questions and took us to multiple areas to catch some flounder. He did a fabulous job filleting our fish which we breaded and cooked that same day…so fresh and yummy! We would go out on the water with Bill any time!

My friends and I decided to go on fishing trip since it was last day for tautog and first day for black sea bass. We filled our limit of sea bass in about 2 and half hours and spent rest day fishing for togs. At the end we caught total of 99 keepers. We had blast. Captain Dave knew where to go for each species of fishes. Captain Dave and crewmember Chris were very friendly and knew what to do. Highly recommend On The Run Charters!

This was overall a fun trip despite the cold/windy/foggy temperatures. The fish weren't biting great, but the opportunity to catch was definitely there; Captain Dave was very knowledgeable about what was biting where and when, and would direct our casting to the best spots. First mate Chris would always make sure our lines were baited. Will be back to try again when it's warmer!

The fish were not biting in the bay and the sea was rough with waves 4 to 5 feet. Even though the seas were rough we went out 16 miles to fish a wreck for sea bass and flounder. We managed to catch 9 sea bass and 3 flounder of legal size along with several shorts.
We had a good despite the rough conditions.
I recommend Captain Robert for future trips.

6 guys enjoyed a great day of bottom fishing on the New Release with Captains Troy and Debbie. We caught well over Black Sea Bass. Debbie ran the boat and put us right on fish with every drift. Bill was an amazing guide. He called to let us know the weather wasn’t going to be the best and gave us the option to go out on a different day, which we are so glad we did. He was quick to respond to our questions and took us to multiple areas to catch some flounder. He did a fabulous job filleting our fish which we breaded and cooked that same day…so fresh and yummy! We would go out on the water with Bill any time!

My friends and I decided to go on fishing trip since it was last day for tautog and first day for black sea bass. We filled our limit of sea bass in about 2 and half hours and spent rest day fishing for togs. At the end we caught total of 99 keepers. We had blast. Captain Dave knew where to go for each species of fishes. Captain Dave and crewmember Chris were very friendly and knew what to do. Highly recommend On The Run Charters!

This was overall a fun trip despite the cold/windy/foggy temperatures. The fish weren't biting great, but the opportunity to catch was definitely there; Captain Dave was very knowledgeable about what was biting where and when, and would direct our casting to the best spots. First mate Chris would always make sure our lines were baited. Will be back to try again when it's warmer!

My wife and I each caught our first ever striped bass. Captain Wayne was great. The gear he had for us worked well. He put us on fish. We caught 8 stripers and a skate. I should’ve booked a longer trip.

The fish were not biting in the bay and the sea was rough with waves 4 to 5 feet. Even though the seas were rough we went out 16 miles to fish a wreck for sea bass and flounder. We managed to catch 9 sea bass and 3 flounder of legal size along with several shorts.
We had a good despite the rough conditions.
I recommend Captain Robert for future trips.

6 guys enjoyed a great day of bottom fishing on the New Release with Captains Troy and Debbie. We caught well over Black Sea Bass. Debbie ran the boat and put us right on fish with every drift. Troy did his best to keep up with our baits as fast as we pulled fish into the boat. A great day of fishing. Thanks to both Captains.
