The season here kicks off in April, when Coho and Chinook Salmon start patrolling the waters around the harbor. These species are the superstars of Port Washington, and you’ll usually be trolling for them using planer boards. Steelhead, Lake Trout, and Brown Trout are also on offer, with Trout being an especially popular ice fishing target during winter.
You’ll find local guides setting up departure points all along Port Washington’s lakefront. In the winter when the lake freezes over, some of these guides switch to running ice fishing adventures around the harbors.
