You can almost smell spring in the air, which means there’s some good Spotted Seatrout action in the near-fishing-future. Delicious Sheepshead also love this weather and will respond to a well-presented bait close to the bottom.

Abril

It’s officially spring, so expect beautiful days, nature in bloom, and lots of hungry fish. Whether you’re looking for some dinner or a fishing thrill, the Ashley River will deliver. Black Drum, Spotted Seatrout, and Sheepshead are all in the cards.

Mayo

You’ll hardly find a better month to target Spotted Seatrout. This is good news for anglers because Trout are known both for their smart fighting style and great taste. It’s a win-win combo!

Junio

It’s getting hot on and in the water, which is a sign for Flounder to hide in deeper cooler waters. Redfish, Trout, and Black Drum aren’t bothered by the heat in the least, if anything, it makes them hungrier.

Julio

The inshore action is excellent but it’s a good idea to head out early in the morning, before it gets too hot. Just after sunrise, there are lots of Trout feeding on the incoming tide and minnows are the best choice of bait.

Agosto

It’s been several months since Flounder decided to beat the heat, but now they’re making a comeback! You can hook plenty for a delicious meal, especially if you cast your line close to the confluence of the Ashley and Cooper Rivers.

Even though the weather can get a bit unstable, the bite on the river is rock-solid. Whatever you’re in the mood for – Sheepshead, Redfish, Trout, or Flounder – they’re all there for the taking.

Spotted Seatrout and Flounder love this time of year more than any other species. You can find them all over the river, especially close to Oldtown and Orangegrove Creeks.

On a windy, post rainy day morning fishing charter Chris brought us to multiple spots catching something at almost every spot including a massive 42 inch drum fish in the inter coastal. There is never a guarantee of fish but Captain Chris’s local knowledge and experience will give you the upper hand on any fish swimming around Charleston. My son and I will for sure be calling if we travel back here again.

He was great with our son who caught a good sized red, and our daughter who was content being the shrimp master. Everybody had a great time, we lost count on how many fish we caught. Danny was incredibly nice, accommodating, had a great boat and equipment and led us in an incredibly enjoyable outing looking for redfish. While we weren’t able to land one in the end, we had a great experience, got to learn what to look for, saw some fish up close, had a few bites that got away and had a ton of fun.
