Known for its legends of monster fish and record-breaking catches, the Tennessee River has captured the imagination of anglers for decades. When it comes to fishing on the Tennessee River, you’ll have your fair share of action and stories to tell for years to come!

The Tennessee River is home to some of the best Striped Bass and Catfish action. This mighty river produces the biggest specimens caught in Tennessee as well as Alabama. Other top targets include Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Rainbow Trout, Musky, and Sauger.

Many Tennessee River fishing guides offer full day as well as half day trips. Full day trips typically last up to eight hours and are excellent for covering more ground and targeting multiple species. The largemouth bass only hit once during our whole time out. Captain Myles recommended for better bass fishing to come in spring or fall and they'd be hitting.

I had never fished before I went to Lake Guntersville with Myles. He showed me how to cast and reel in and was complimentary of how quickly I learned it.
