Fishing Techniques
Madeira Marlin fishing focuses almost exclusively on trolling. Fast-trolling with lures is the most popular tactic here as it lets you cover more ground on the hunt for big fish. Most boats use heavy trolling rods and reels, hoping for the island’s next grander. You can sometimes find kites flying above bigger boats, especially when they’re targeting big Tunas.
Up for something with a bit more finesse? We rent an appartement near the harbour. So it was an easy walk in the morning (5 minutes)to the boat. And as you leave very early in the morning you can get breakfast at the harbour promenade. There is a nice Cafe which was open at 8 when I arrived.

We caught 6 big (2 were 5kg) red snapper and 1 big 5kg trevally within one hour , we also caught 2 decent size mackerel which we turned into a great civiche on the boat and a small barracuda. The crew Ricardo and John are awesome, their knowledge seemed to be as deep as the sea is at Madeira. One of our best fishing trips we did so far, and we have fished all over the world. A great days fishing!! Nothing big but that's part and parcel of fishing as we all know! But switched to deep sea fishing for the second half and had a great day pulling up fish!! Even if I was a little sea sick!
Best deckhand I've seen on a boat too and the food provided was amazing!!
If you're going to book sea fishing then go with these guys! Best price and best chance of catching a big game!!

My 14 year old son and I went on his first fishing trip this Christmas and it was a huge success. Our Captain certainly knew where the fish were and are we managed to lad a 45 - 50kg. Amberjack,...but it took a while. We lost another one about the same size but also caught a 5kg. Red Snapper which we cooked for lunch - DELICIOUS !!. I would highly recommend this trip for both experienced fisherman as well as beginners. ENJOY !!!

I have fished from many guide boats around the world. Here you have a captain who gives 100% for you to succeed. Good equipment and good boat. Bottom fishing is a lot more exciting than people think. Feeling the fish bite, then fight the fish all the way up from 100 m makes the whole trip. Highly recommended if you want good fishing.

Amazing trip. In the end of trip two tunas bites. The other one was the fighter. It tooks 1 hour to get fish on the boat. The results - 1 over 100 kg and the other appr. 150 kg.

I have never been sea sick before and Ricardo sensitively offered to cut from a full day to half

Hooked up on a some snapper and grouper jigging but no luck trolling. Did not have to go from harbor to get to fish. Great views of the island while fishing and ate some of the catch on the boat.

We caught 6 big (2 were 5kg) red snapper and 1 big 5kg trevally within one hour , we also caught 2 decent size mackerel which we turned into a great civiche on the boat and a small barracuda. The crew Ricardo and John are awesome, their knowledge seemed to be as deep as the sea is at Madeira. One of our best fishing trips we did so far, and we have fished all over the world. Thank you and keep up the great ?

A great days fishing!! Nothing big but that's part and parcel of fishing as we all know! But switched to deep sea fishing for the second half and had a great day pulling up fish!! Even if I was a little sea sick!
Best deckhand I've seen on a boat too and the food provided was amazing!!
If you're going to book sea fishing then go with these guys! Best price and best chance of catching a big game!!

Nelson and Tonio took great care of us during our trip. We were able to catch several different species. Nelson is extremely friendly and was great at communicating the plan for our day out.

My 14 year old son and I went on his first fishing trip this Christmas and it was a huge success. Our Captain certainly knew where the fish were and are we managed to lad a 45 - 50kg. Amberjack,...but it took a while. We lost another one about the same size but also caught a 5kg. Red Snapper which we cooked for lunch - DELICIOUS !!. I would highly recommend this trip for both experienced fisherman as well as beginners. ENJOY !!!

I have fished from many guide boats around the world. Here you have a captain who gives 100% for you to succeed. Good equipment and good boat. Bottom fishing is a lot more exciting than people think. Feeling the fish bite, then fight the fish all the way up from 100 m makes the whole trip. Highly recommended if you want good fishing.

Fantastic crew well set up boat, really great day out. Went fishing in November we weren’t expecting to see a lot of game fish but landed two bigeye tuna which was a great result. Thanks to Solomon, Nelson and the crew.

5 stars to the crew. They made for a wonderful day and the icing on the cake was they spotted a wounded sea turtle and rescued and dropped off on way back in at the local marine biology center to rehabilitate her. Highly recommended!

Had a fantastic afternoon with captain Victor on his boat.
Unfortunately the fish were not biting but victor tried so hard to find us some fish.
We will definitely be back to the island and trying for some fish with Victor.
