Mastic it’s a beautiful place especially in August but it is not for everybody fishing is work especially if you’re in the heat on a boat so you have to like fishing in order to enjoy it. We loved it

Olcott is a small friendly town. Walk around, enjoy the sun, and speak with the locals..... if you want to get a feel for current fishing conditions. I spoke with a few guys at The Time Out Bar & Grill and Big Fatties. Everyone was friendly and had good things to say about Captain Kurt (Stalker Charters). We caught a bunch of fish and had a great time. We were in shorts & t-shirts the entire time. Weather was perfect. Not a bad idea to bring a hoodie or long pants just in case.

The fishing at Olcott has been very good. The salmon have been staying in the Olcott area and are hitting with some consistency. Last summer and so far in 2019, fishing has been the best it has been in years. First time fishermen will be surprised at how strong the salmon are and the tremendous, drag-screaming runs by these fish.

We did a half day in the morning. It was a fantastic time. We were just one short of hitting our limit. He was great with my 8 year old and helped him land 3 large salmon. He gear worked great and had us going the entire time. I would recommend him any time.

My son and I had an awesome day with Mike. Caught a bunch of Lake trout, some rock bass and a monster 5lb smallmouth. Had a great time, learned a ton and made the most out of a cooler drizzly day. Mike was great with my 11 yr old who doesn’t always take instruction very well. Thanks Mike, heal up and we will find some time to go out again next year! Be well.

We had a great time fishing with Marcus. None of us fished for salmon before. He was a great guide. He showed us what to do and worked with us until we were comfortable on our own. He continued to coach us throughout the day. He definitely had us on the fish. It was crazy! I didn't want to leave. I definitely recommended using Marcus.

David is best guide I have used on the Salmon River. Bite was tough but still got into the Steelies thanks to David's hustle and hard work. Got them on plug and float rig.

We did a half day in the morning. It was a fantastic time. We were just one short of hitting our limit. He was great with my 8 year old and helped him land 3 large salmon. He gear worked great and had us going the entire time. I would recommend him any time.

Ryan was a great teacher. He explained everything clearly and worked to make sure we understood and had the skills necessary to hook and land giant salmon. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to learn this fishery.
