We had an afternoon trip schedule on a day with unsettled weather.  Captain Josh suggested we delay our sailing an hour to let the storm pass.  We were one of the first boats into the bay and set our sights on catching some Red Fish.  First stop near Crab Island yield two 40 lbs. trophies.  After landing four more good size Reds we headed to the west jetty and hauled in another six in the range of 20 to 30 lbs.

Josh and his first mate were very knowledgeable on catching Red Fish and did an excellent job coaching us on the best way to land each fish.  His boat and tackle were in top shape.  We will definitely book with him next time we are in Fort Walton Beach / Destin.

Captain Josh should change his charter name from Outcast to “ First Cast”!  We were in fish immediately! He had bait ready by the boat slip, all the tackle rigged and ready, and supreme knowledge of the area and techniques. Was a fantastic trip. Me, my wife, 11 year old daughter, and 15 year old son had a blast. We caught fish, saw porpoise and turtles, and took a quick dip in the gulf. You know it’s a success when you ask your kids, “ Would you do it again?”  And the immediate response is, “ Yes!”  Highly recommend Josh for any kind of trip.

Josh was very knowledgable of fishing in the area.  We was very patient teaching me and my 10 year old son about how to fish.  We caught a large variety of big and small fish and had some to take home for dinner. The bigger fish were a little more elusive, but Josh went about and beyond to make sure we got some.  My son and I had a great time, and would definitely do another trip with Josh.

Captain Josh Nelson is awesome!! My husband and I had a really great time! We’re already planning to come back in the fall!! If you are looking for someone that knows the area well and when catching slows down he doesn’t hesitate to move Captain Josh is your man!! We live in NC and knew it was to far to even try to keep our catch, but Captain Josh told us about a restaurant that will cook your fresh catch. Needless to say our dinner was very good! In the picture that is just one fish! We can’t wait to come back in the fall!!

My girlfriend and I went on our first charter with Josh today. We knew we were in for a good time, when we were hooked up on our first couple cast. He knew all the best fishing spots and if they weren’t hitting, he took us to another one. We ended up with a few great catches! Our next trip to Destin, we will definitely be booking with Josh again!
