My 12 year old son was determined to catch a snook while on an upcoming vacation in Florida. Its all he talked about for months leading up to this trip. I found Captain Andrew and was easily able to make a reservation on his website for the following week.

We arrived to some pretty bad weather coming in but had a shot to get out early morning and went for it. In only 4 short hours my son was able to catch dozens of snook, and a bonus limit of trout to take home for dinner. Captain Andrew was down to earth and had great equipment. Bonus points for being adventurous with some bored teenagers in less than perfect conditions!

My family charted Captain Andrew while on vacation in Boca Grande.  He was easy to work with as we wanted a day of fishing for the guys and a day of beach fun for the family!  He contacted quickly after I left him a message earlier in the day. 

The first day we fished inshore. He had bait and equipment all ready for us, all we had to do was cast our lines out. I caught my first snook during this trip, as well as a few other saltwater species. Day two we spent exploring the beaches and islands. Very relaxing with beautiful scenery and plenty of wild life. LOTS of seashells there, the wife and kids were thrilled.

I arranged for a half day Tarpon fishing with Captain Andrew for my Bachelor Party last month. We had 6 guys, so Andrew happily agreed to arrange a 2nd boat & captain so our group could comfortably fish for the day. He put us on the Tarpon asap and within minutes both boats hooked fish and started fighting. We spent the 2nd half of the trip a little more relaxed with a trip inland for some shark fishing. Captain Andrew had a great attitude and took good care of our group all day. Great boat & gear and a fantastic custom stool for fighting the big Tarpon. I look forward to going back and fishing with him again soon.

I had the opportunity to take a trip out bowfishing with Capt. Andrew and Mallory Herzog last October. They were such cool people, knowledgeable in their craft, and passionate about what they do.

I knew they were the ones to help me break my tarpon jinx. Done & done…. mostly because the Herzog’s called an audible and took us out for an extra evening when they knew conditions would be optimum. We hooked up four tarpon in a matter of minutes and I managed to “lay hands” on the first silver king of my life.

What a thrill! Following trips out were in less-than-optimum conditions… a screaming South Florida wind. I’m a fishing guide myself. I know one thing the guide can never control is the weather. You can only work hard to make the best of a tough situation.

I absolutely guarantee the Herzog’s will do that. We hooked up five more tarpon but none chose to visit us at the boat. That’s tarpon fishing. Success is measured in hook-ups, not landed fish. Our trip with the Herzogs was a grand success. Hopefully there are more in my future.

Talk about an experience one will never forget! If you are a local or from out of town/ state I would recommend Big Bully over any other charter! They go above and beyond! You get on the boat and you are off to fish for the day. Their knowledge of the area and expertise with the species of fish is incredible. Wether you want to fish inshore for Mangrove Snapper and redfish, or grab a beast of a Goliath Grouper, Land a shark, or try for a trophy Tarpon this is the charter to take!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!
