Background
I grew up on Lake Erie fishing with my grandparents as a kid. We used to fish from a 25' Sportcraft built in 1988. Throughout the years, my passion for hunting started to diminish and now I eat, sleep and breath fishing. I have over 10 years of experience fishing the Lake Erie and have been guiding fishing trips for five years professionally. I am very patient and love teaching my customers. Ensuring a fun and a productive day on the water is my main goal as a captain.
Techniques
I love casting, retrieving crawler harness, feeling the strike of Walleye, and setting the hook. Same can be said for vertical jigging them in the early spring when they are close to the shore spawning. I also like to troll but would rather cast. Trolling is great if there are smaller kids on board and it's the most effective way to fill a cooler full of fish on Erie.

Impulse Sport Fishing LLC, Lake Erie Fishing Charters What an Awesome trip today with repeat guests that are a blast to fish with, thanks again guys we will see you again in June ****REPORT**** Iced 40 eyes before they called it quits and decided to come in Started off jigging in the morning as that is what they came up to experience this time but that didn't pan out today. We ended up catching around 5 walleye (lost a bunch) and absolutely put the hammer to the SHEEPHEAD . Jigged in 12 FOW with a water temp of nearly 51° and had a few chasers when reeling them up off the bottom which is always awesome to see . We decided to call it quits and switch tactics and head for deeper water for a trolling bite. Now trolling was slow going and we was only picking one fish here and there and then headed away from the pack from a good tip and started catching faster. We had 4 fish on at once multiple times today with a few doubles and a triple with are biggest fish going 28" on the nose "FISHO!"BANDITS and Spro Madeye 120 minnows ruled the day with leads of 55 (the best) and 60 at 1.4 - 1.6 mph. Trolling east to west was great early on then North and South was our best direction when the wind switched out of the East/ Northeast. All colors were catching but brighter colors where a little hotter. Also pulled fish on WNC Reapers at 50 and 30 back as well as a shallow bandit 35 back 2oz then 75 back. Done until Wednesday but what a start to our season today with an absolute great crew, they pretty much did EVERYTHING I just kept them on fish and the caught them Capt. FAST AND FURIOUS JIG BITE in front of WW (at first daylight) lol. We had 16 fish in the box by 730am this morning and then worked for the last 5 fish we kept. Came in with 21 just 3 shy of our limit today. A LOT of shorts today, probably thrown back 15 or 18 fish that were 13 - 15", still fun to catch just not what we were looking for. Started off with white and pink hair jigs the switched to purple and black which dominated the morning and the rest of the day. A little faster presentation then yesterday and a sideways jigging presentation instead of up and down was the preferred method to trigger bites or fishing on the downside of the boat ( jigging under the boat) NO MINNOW just a bare jig Started off in 13 FOW and then moved up into 10 FOW when the bite died out just off shore. Water was stained/ muddy again today but that has been where are best bites/ fishing has been coming from. Capt. John P Seiler

Got on a good jig bite this morning out front of WW in the stained/ muddy water for a 2 man limit 15 FOW was key for us today, and a slow and steady tick and barley lifting it off the bottom was triggering our bites. Anything white was working for us but Lyle Behner outfished my white/ pink hair jig with his White wonderbread blade bait no minnow needed. We lost ALOT of fish late morning and had a few throwbacks with a few BIG white perch mixed in. Surface water temp was mid 40's today Last free weekend as charters start next weekend then it's time to get to work Capt. John P Seiler

Erie wasn't good to us today, 4 fish jigging the reefs in 4.5 hours. It was a cold morning that was for sure and got really narly out there around 10:30 - 11 o'clock, is when we decided to call it and come back for lunch. Tomorrow should be a much better day for jig fishing with much calmer waters. White was the prefered color for us, one on a white Capt J Blade bait and three on a pink and white hair jig tipped with a minnow. Drift speed was 1.4 with out a sock and around 1mph with a sock. What a fantastic day of fishing on the Impulse in the Western Basin of Lake Erie, we had a group that has been coming to fish with us the last 3 years and they absolutely put the hammer down on some Lake Erie gators this past Sunday morning. What I thought would be a miserable day with severe thunder storm warnings out for the Oak Harbor and Port Clinton areas and a 100% chance of rain turned out to be a absolute slaughter fest on the Western Basin of Lake Erie. Most of the bad weather split and stayed on the south shore and the other half went North of us out over Canada on the North shore. We did get a little wet from some moisture that fell from the sky but didn't get completely drenched, it was the type of rain that was more on annoyance then anything. The sun did pop out for a split second but it was pretty much an overcast the entire morning we were out there. Now I mentioned SLAUGHTER FEST a couple of times lol, This group had there Lake Erie walleye limit and the first mate and captains limit a total of 30 Lake Erie gators in 3.5 hours, just an absolute slaughter fest and incredible fishing. Finally heading back from Vacation, so hopefully we will have a good report to post later this week. From the sounds of things Walleye are snapping when the weather allows boats to get out. It has been a really crappy spring when it comes to weather, been getting none stop North Northeast winds gusting in excess of 45mph and those kinds of winds just tear the lake up and takes a good couple of days to clear it up. Once it starts to settle down we get another hard blow, lol just can't seem to catch a break this year. Check back latter this week for an updated fishing report.
